    Acetone can probably be bought for $2 in a food store.

    Technical term is a pick guard. My Jackson Kelly doesn't have one so the entire operating area is a menagerie of microscopic swirls.

    I knew that and still typed scratch guard. Sometimes my brain goes off for a wander... rather like Homer Simpson’s.

    My guess is that for the small amount you need you could walk into any body shop and they would give you what you need for free, I know I would.
