(This is a screen caption from a film. The film is called "No Longer Human" and it was so - so, but I liked the ending and this scene in particular).

I was trying to make those a few years ago. Not quite as easy as they look.

I love interesting landscapes like this, and I like caves in general, so this is a winner for me.

An American classic, perhaps with Freudian implications.

Dude—John Schoenherr is amazing!! He used to do both covers and interior illustrations for Analog quite a bit.

This one is for a story by James Schmitz called The Tuvela (as you can probably tell...), which was serialized and then expanded into a novel called The Demon Breed. One of my favorites from Analog back in the day.

If those are giant, intelligent otters, I may have to give it a read.

It's also included in a collection called The Hub: Dangerous Territory—all stories by Schmitz, with another Nile Etlund story included (that's the bikini chick in the cover above). The other story isn't nearly as good, in fact personally I didn't care for any of the others. But through some strange alchemy he really hit it hard with The Tuvela/Demon Breed. I just dug out my copy of Dangerous Territory and I think I need to revisit the floating driftwood islands once again.

Even better. My WIP features giant intelligent marmots, so this is timely.

Finally caught up on the latest Berserk chapters. Man. Such a....tragic story.

Skull Knight art looks badass though.

I'm a fan of heavy lines/few colours combo.

    Here's a cover I love:
