Ok well a while ago now we had decided that we were going to hold another poetry contest every four weeks. The difference being that you are given three objects to write a poem with/about. We now have to come up with a title for this contest before we can begin running them. Here are some of the suggestion we have had thus far. Tri Hard, Triple Tangs, Three Ways out, Triangular Story Contest, Three bricks in the wall, Tricycle, One player short of a Quartet, Writers Trinity, Trist, Triple Crown, Out of the Hat, Hat Trick, Torana's Tripartite Party. I think that was all of the suggestions and if I did miss any I am sorry. So just let me know what one you prefer yourself or give further suggestions to a name. Torana <here is the original thread to give a better understanding. The first post is a description of the contest. Iron Poet/Writer Contests - Writing Forums>
I like Hat Trick as well Dom but I would just like to make sure that everyone is happy with the name that is chosen. I'd hate to pick a name myself and have everyone hate it. :S
I know, I was throwing my two cents in trying to bias the voting early. And see it's already working. It got Anthraxx to agree right off the bat.
Consensus of opinion does not mean I agreed to you. I seconded you, but I have my own opinion... LOL! That sounds so totally feminist.
"Tri Hard" entertains me just because I think of the best Christmas movie of all time. But whatever works is fine.
thank you all for your opinions. Hopefully we get a few more opinions on this as I would like to make the next poetry contest be the first one of these contest to be held.
i don't see any connection between 'hat trick' and the contest's concept... it's more like 'three card monte' if you need to have a con job or sleight of hand aspect to it... just 'three-in-one' seems to say it all for me, but that hasn't been suggested, so if i'm too late................ btw, who is to judge the contest?
Thank you both for your input. The contest will be judged the same way they are always judged maia. By votes from members. The aim of these contests is not only to get members to try something different, but to encourage members to work together as a community.
