Please check out my Synopsis & Plot below & tell me what you think... 'Synopsis: Anna Cardell has never truly known who she is. After spending the first ten years of her life in & out of numerous foster homes, Anna came to live with the Cardell family in the small town of Staithes, where she finally started to feel like she belonged. That was until she turned 21, & everything started to go wrong... Plot: At the age of 21, Anna learns the truth about her birth parents when someone is sent to protect her from ‘the evil ones’, & after coming to terms with the fact that she is part alien, she soon takes a hold of her new found abilities in order to protect herself & her loved ones from the clutches of darkness...' This idea isn't set in stone as I am always swapping & changing things around - but its a start, right? So, what do you think? Kelly x
There is not all that much that can be reviewed. It seems like it would make a good story, but until its down in its written form we can't say whether or not it will be good or bad. Most ideas have been done before; the key is reworking and changing an idea, adding your own touch and flare to it so that it becomes unique and original. There isn't really a bad idea; just bad writing. If you want us to be able to give you more advice you should upload a piece of writing in the writing workshop - first though you will have to give 2 different pieces of work a review. I also believe you need to have been part of the site for 2 weeks - someone please correct this if it is inaccurate.
Pyraeus is right about the Writing Workshop - you need to have been a member for two weeks, have made at least 20 posts and made at least two constructive critiques before you're allowed to post there. This is very much on the borderline of whether it should go to the Writing Workshop, as you're asking for critique. Please bear all this in mind in future, and remember we have very good reasons behind our Writing Workshop policy. As it is, feel free to discuss your ideas. As has been said, there's generally no such thing as a bad idea, only bad writing. Though many would argue that Jar-Jar Binks was a bad idea and not bad writing
story ideas mean nothing, as noted above... only the written product can be judged... the best idea ever can flop in the hands of a poor writer, while the worst story idea ever can become a bestseller in the hands of a master wordsmith...
