i have had a story bouncing around in my head for a long time now, of a medieval/fantasy novel from the point of view of the soldier standing at the very last line in the massive attacking force of an army. this i feel has much potential for a light comedic read although i am having a hard time coming up with the complications to move the story forward. so far my idea is to have him contradict a general and offer an alternative attack formation, which leads to victory and his promotion and what not. although that idea of the rags to riches has been done before. so i would like you to throw some ideas at me as far as taking this idea and adding a plot line. thanks ShadowReeves
If it's comedic, one approach is that none of his plans work - but in failing, the outcome somehow works out even better than planned. So make the plans seem completely outlandish and impractical, and let everything fall apart. But make it fall apart in a way that actually helps.
Another, is that through some series of blunders he's thought to be a hero. That's good for comedy if you can think of ridiculous methods he used to kill the enemy and escape death.
Similar to Adlerian, you could have stories spread around, each getting more outlandish. Think the mc from Ants- but better lol
haha thanks peeps. i dont know if it to be a comedy, or anything else. but i have had the idea for so long i think i should write it down
Have the guy killed his enemies with really horrendous jokes, or have him slay someone with a feather duster. My thought on humor is not the same as others. Don't listen to Rem, his ideas are very ludicrous.
