some are public domain, I've learned. What about the titles? Can I mention the song title if I don't include lyrics? What about poem titles? Is it okay if you just switch up the wording a la The Fault in Our Stars?
titles cannot be copyrighted, so you can use them at will... includes all titles of all forms of writing... and changing wording is thus also not a problem... you should learn the basics of copyright and tm laws, if you want to be a writer... you can find them here: www.copyright.gov www.uspto.gov
