Hi there! I've been stalking forums for a couple of weeks now and I've read lots of wonderful advice and thoughts, so I thought I would make an account and say hi to all you people. Hoping to be a active member here once I gain more confidence in my own writing skills
You won't gain confidence until you endure the beating, or possible praise, of a public forum. Spend the time looking at people's review of work as much as the work itself. Then provide specific and detailed critiques of your own. Then finally post your work. Criticism is a good thing, it reveals many issues you never would have known you had.
Hi Kayanna I'm one of the forum moderators and I want to welcome you to the forum. I've got kinda behindhand at welcoming our new members (life does intrude on my moderating time) so I have already seen some of your posts on various threads. Sorry this welcome is a bit late, but hopefully better than never. If you haven't already had a chance to read these two links, please do. They give insight into the workings of the forum, and will help keep you on track. New Member Quick Start Forum Rules Also, I've discovered that this link can be helpful. It's not a series of frequently asked questions, as the title implies. It's actually a forum map, with direct links to various parts of the forum. I use it a lot, and you might want to explore what's under the hood here. https://www.writingforums.org/faq/ Anyway, I hope you're enjoying your membership thus far. If you have any problems, feel free to contact me via a 'conversation' and I'll do my best to help. Cheers, Jan
