    Portraying Dangerous Paranoia?

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by Killer300, Dec 31, 2011.

Specifically, this is someone who thinks the entire world is out to humiliate or kill them. One thing I'm wondering is about great novels with such a starring character, and whether they found a way to make them sympathetic. Because after all, this is the protagonist of this particular plot, and there's this horror element that comes from her being well... really paranoid because of the plot event that sets off everything.

Yeah, that's one. Also, I guess this would be a similar question to my thread about ultra rich characters, asking for tips in writing them. But as I said, horribly worded, and... yeah.

Read the Burke novels by Andrew Vachss.
