- are so weird. It is pouring down rain in my back yard and not raining at all on the side of the house. The cloud is stalled. I can walk in and out of the rain, literally.
Is it almost windless? Maybe the wind would be totally different at cloud level and ground level though.
I went back out. The wind is blowing at the cloud level, and the cloud was moving perpendicular to the house. So the rain line stayed in about the same place even though the cloud was moving.
cool! i love it when it's raining but the sun is shining brightly, 'cause the rain's coming down at an angle...
Every rain cloud has an edge. This is something my grandmother never understood. "How can it be raining in Haslingden and not raining in Rochdale?" she'd say, as if such a thing wasn't physically possible.
I remember telling my sister once that it was raining on our street but not the street over and she tried to tell me that was impossible. I shut her up when I told her it has to stop raining somewhere otherwise it would be raining everywhere anytime it did rain. What looks really cool is when you can see it raining far away. Like when you're on a mountain and you can see it raining in the valley dozens of miles away.
