Well, I don't know. It depends, I suppose, on the intent, meaning of, and reasoning behind the sentence being constructed.

There’s a stray cat in our neighborhood my wife and I sort of care for. She just showed up one day a few years ago. We think some renters across the street left her behind when they moved out in the middle of the night (We know the landlord; The renters skipped out on six months back rent, and trashed the place on their way out.) Anyway, the cat. There’s no petting her. She trusts no one. We think they left her behind to fend for herself. My wife felt bad for her, and started putting food out for her. Then we put out a water bowl. Then we got a heated water bowl for the winter months, so her water won’t freeze. Then we noticed birds and possums and raccoons were joining in on the dry food, so we started giving her canned food. A while back the wife bought a cat version of a doghouse. It’s been out there all this time and she just hasn’t used it. This year we got her a heating pad. We’ve seen her in the house several times now that her shelter is a warm shelter. I got some photographic proof today. It’s been a brutal cold wintry mix of snow and rain taking turns since last night. We’d probably take them all in if we could, but at least this one had a full stomach, and somewhere warm and dry to be.
Aw, poor kitty. They all deserve a comfortable, safe, and loving home. This seems to be the next best thing. If you have a good humane society where you live, I'd say contact them and maybe they can find kitty a permanent home, or even a foster home first. But it's tricky, because I believe many will also destroy unsociable cats. I think most cats can be rehabilitated if they have lived with humans for any stretch of time, though. Only the ones who were born and raised feral might not have much hope of socialization.
That kitty has landed with her antisocial butt in the butter. No feline social services needed here. Hear and attend and listen; for this befell and behappened and became and was, O my Best Beloved, when the Tame animals were wild. The Dog was wild, and the Horse was wild, and the Cow was wild, and the Sheep was wild, and the Pig was wild—as wild as wild could be—and they walked in the Wet Wild Woods by their wild lones. But the wildest of all the wild animals was the Cat. He walked by himself, and all places were alike to him.

There IS such a thing as taking political correctness too far. The AP style guide briefly tweeted to tell reporters not to use "the" when referring to people as it could be dehumanising (e.g. "the" French"). The French Embassy in the US briefly changed its name to "The Embassy of Frenchness in the US". https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-64436973 Some wag suggested an alternative might be "People suffering from Frenchness".
A good friend was just laid off from a company she's worked for for thirty years. Seems like half the companies in the country are laying off people in wholesale lots and the other half are screaming about not being able to find workers.
