Here's the other guy, who's name I couldn't think of, that used to do duets with Roy Clark on Hee Haw. Not sure if all of this is Bluegrass, but that's what it sounds like to me: Or at least he uses a very Bluegrassy technique for just about everything he plays.
That was the only way I was able to understand them. Like really understand them after 30 years. That the key of C is the same as D Dorian, is the same as E Phrygian, is the same as F Lydian, and so on. When I understood it that way, everything clicked at once. I guess when they first came up with this shit, they only had modes. The keys came centuries later. The was no D, only Dorian. And there was no G, only Mixolydian. Which makes sense if you think about ancient Celts making flutes and shit with only a dozen holes. You won't see the sprawling pattern of it. Just, "Oooh, that hole make sad noise." That blew my mind.
That one is more rock-a-billy. BTW, Glen played on every Beach Boys album produced in the 60's as well as the first two Monkees albums. He was in that group of super session players called the "The Wrecking Crew".
The Swedish warship Vasa (1628) was designed and built so top-heavy that it simply rolled over and sank about a mile into its maiden voyage.
Today (well, I'm up late so yesterday, but time zones) is the 63rd birthday of His Majesty the Emperor Naruhito. Mrs. A got the day off work.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jack and Kate Winslet’s Rose would not have survived if both had got on the makeshift door raft.
One of the best scenes, watching DiCaprio drown. Not a fan of his work if you can't tell. Almost as good as watching Paris Hilton die in House of Wax. It was a horrible remake.
Haha. Yeah. I've got no beef with him, really. He's good at what he does. And I like Kate Winslet quite a bit. But those two characters... sheesh! The movie wasn't bad at all. Not great, but entertaining. But it kind of ruined the Titanic for me. When I was a kid (11?), I got a picture book about the Titanic with a bunch of historical photos mixed with Robert Ballard's expedition. They had a lot of before and after side-by-side shots. I loved it, so my folks got me a bunch of other Titanic books. I got really into it. It was a fascinating story to me. But then the movie came out when I was 18-19 and the sudden Titanic popularity ruined everything for me. Like, it wasn't my own little niche anymore. Made me angst-y at the time.
I've never seen it and have no interest. As far as I'm concerned Cameron's career ended after T2 (or Aliens, whichever came last). I kind of enjoyed the CG remake of Battle Angel Alita, but he only produced that one, and it was decent, not great. The thing I actually liked the most about the anime version was the art. It's the line work, the color, and the changing shapes from frame to frame that give it style. Plus the highly stylized movement and the expressiveness of some of the anime conventions, like the lines under the eyes etc. You can't do any of that in realistic CGI. By contrast I think the CG Alita looks bland and dull. The anime is free on Youtube if anybody is interested.
Heck, maybe I ought to watch Titanic again, this time with a properly jaundiced eye. I liked Titanic, Kate Winslet, and Leonardo di Caprio. The latter made The Aviator, one of my favorite movies.
That's how I feel about tardigrades now. They used to be a weird little bit niche knowledge, now everybody and their brother is stanning the beasts.

Fun fact: When you skip Monday, your Tuesday will become double Monday-y (4 meetings today along with a 4 hour desk shift.)
