Soul, Jazz, and Latin music. Scooters. Fine italianate suits. The mod scene has become more and more alluring the more I find out about it.

I find, increasingly, that I enjoy the music and culture of not only the original movement but the two revivals as well. Of course, The Who and The Jam are classic bands, but the suits and italian scooters give the subculture a certain dignity not seen in punk or hard rock, and the association with Jean-Paul Sartre and existentialism is just the cherry on the cake, Sartre being one of my favorite authors.

    What's YOUR Natural High?

I'm sure something similar in terms of threads has existed before, but...

Is there something you do sometimes that just makes you feel good? Like sports, being with someone you love, writing something you're particularly proud of, anything in general?
    (Not some artificial happiness?)

One of my natural highs has to be when I'm in the mountains every fall and we hike this particularly difficult trail that's slick and often times treacherous. But when we get to the top, there is the most spectacular waterfall pounding below this clear firmament of a sky and you feel thousands of miles away from any industrialization.

    What's yours? :)

When I'm performing music for people that really seem to enjoy it. Nothing like it.
