Performing a stand-up routine, sweating buckets as the audience stares expectantly, then hearing the sound of concerted laughter as my body tells some joke or another, and breathing an internal sigh of relief.

It's similar to yours. On the coast to the north of where I live, there's a fantastic white beach along the coast. It's a wonderful place to go for a walk with friends, especially in the evening, when you can usually see the Northern Lights. There are people around, in small cottages in the mountains - you can see the orange glow from them, on the summits, where they merge with the stars.

    my 'highs'?......

a big grin on the face of a child, or adult, who goes away from my 'free books center' [a tiny corner of my small front room] with 'treasure' in their hands...

a 'thank you' from any of the thousands of 'mentees' and others i've helped with their writing over the past few years [usually, by first tearing it to shreds!]...

a hug from a contract worker [= near-slave here!] i've helped get a work permit extension [even though there are no jobs to be had]...

birds twittering happily outside my open door, even when i haven't tossed any crumbs out on my porch for days...

the sweet scent of plumeria wafting in my window, while i work...

a huge full moon i could easily read by [like last nights!], if i wasn't so enchanted by the orb itself...

and too many more to list........................................................

Since I was a child, I've loved going to bed in clean pyjamas, with fresh sheets on the bed :)

Bookstores. We went to Vegas Monday night, and yesterday we had a few hours to kill between going to tour places for Joel to apply. It was up to me what we did with those few hours, and how did we spend them?

    At Barnes and Noble. :)

^Hehe. So, so guilty, only I'm afraid I usually spend most of my time at B&N in the kid's section, rediscovering toddler books. *headdesk*

    ^Lol.

Having my hammy half asleep, half eating corn in my hand, looking so cute that I can't stand to put her down. Hence my typing with only one hand.

Wow, she is cute. Nearly a year and a half I've had her, and I'm still not over her yet. Got me wrapped around her SO STINKIN' CUTE LITTLE PAW, she does. As if you hadn't already noticed.

Anyway, yeah, my hammy makes me happy.

Hearing the one thing I absolutely needed to hear to make my day go from "ugh" to fantastic. :)

Oh, and missing school mostly because I felt no desire to attend, and had a headache.
