Random Things That Make You Happy Thread

Unscrewing the lid off a new, fresh jar of peanut butter. Peeling back the foil on the top and exposing the smooth, perfectly undisturbed surface (Jiff, creamy). Then taking a knife, dragging it through the surface (or your finger) and enjoying it.

Dry cereal out of the box.

Waking up early (around six in October) and seeing everything grow lighter.

When a singer's voice cracks on a song's note.

Music in general.

How I feel after a practice or running.

 

Cutting shapes in my daughters school sandwiches, knowing when she opens up her lunch she will be thrilled.

It makes me happy to write. You could say that it's not random nor a little thing. But really, it is. Every written tale, every unique song, ever little work of art, each is a random occurrence. You cannot chose when to write, nor what to write. Their stories come to you, and you merely speak the tale. Each story is different, each voice is different, and each is its own little entity. They are random little things, that grace us when they feel it is right. Randomly little things, that take us, share with us, their gift or their plight. Pleasant, fierce, somber, or even violent when they deem it is so. But never does it matter, we can not chose the voice we listen to. I like to write, because when I write, I forget my existence, I forget my mind, I forget hunger and thirst and pain. All that exists is nothing but that single voice, that guides me, beckons me, coerces me, to live its life, to hear its tale, to speak the words it cannot speak, to be.... to be, to be, to be....

 

Nice phone conversations with my son, while he is shopping a very popular store we all know and love to hate. Well, except me...I just hate it and avoid that place like the black plague.

 

Working out. Gym time used to be torture to me...but now I love it.

 

Getting told that im pretty cool by somebody i think highly of.

 

Discovering a new friend.

 

Yeah that ones pretty good chim gotta give ya that one...

 

Yes...always. My new friend really does make my day.

 

-Shop for books, it's such a stress relief.
-Do random things in my room (I would go around and around; if , say, I see books, I would open them, flip through its pages; If I happen to stumble across my PSP, I would play games that make me happy; If I happen to have several ideas in my head, I would do whatever it is that my heart desire), It's just too random to express in words.

 

I found a coupon for free icecream from Cold Stone...ice cream....mmmmmmm

 

Horror movies always make me happy!!! The scarier the better.
