So that they won't be reiterated endlessly until they turn into a shambling zombie of their former self.

I'm not brave enough to investigate the thump I just heard on the wall outside, so I'm going to respectfully request whatever exists in the ether that the imagined killer passes over this house tonight. I really need a new hobby instead of true crime.

not a pro, yet very curious
I was reading a gossip article (I rarely do) about celebrities who think they are still popular but sadly haven't realized they have been already forgotten. Of the long list, I only ever heard of three and I am not even fully sure what they did to become celebrities in the first place. I guess one exception is Hulk Hogan. Who the hell are these people????

    I feel blessed not to know . . . I saved a lot of my time. :D

I like it. It's got a good solid sound to it—invokes thunder. Perhaps the thunder in your belly. :blech: (<— Thungry smiley!)

You can see the conversations, talks, secrets, arguments people had over the internet. There are arguments on rpg.net that existed at least a decade ago. Even more so for other forums.

Some of those people might be dead, we won't know. That conversation ten years ago might be the last thing they ever posted online before the appendicitis came.

Looking over that short story I wrote about the bunny man, the one I posted on here back in May of last year.

I’m gonna give it a re-write and post it. :3 Should it go back in that thread, or warrant its own?

Speaking as a regular member, I think we have a rule about not creating new threads each time you adjust something.

If it's a complete rewrite you might want to ask staff specifically though.

Wondering whether I'll enjoy a series like Mr Robot ever again. Watching season 4 roll out ensued the most exciting weekly viewings of my life (well, every episode since s1e3). It was depressing as hell seeing each episode end and knowing it was coming to a conclusion. I love The Wire and Sopranos but nothing has ever felt so relatable and brilliant.

Where I now live is not 500 yards from the town hall. I had feared the din of the bell tolling the hours would be annoying but it’s an incredibly peaceful and evocative sound. That DONGGGGG! DONGGGGG! echoing through the night every hour makes me feel like a beatnik artist from the 70s renting an apartment in some little French town.

I don't think Ray Bradbury gets enough credit. His short stories are so damn good.

From what I can tell he's highly regarded. He's an all-time great in my book.

The only work of his I can say for certain I've read was The Martian Chronicles and I remember being decidedly unimpressed. Where would you say they fall in his range?

I've only read 3 of his works... Fahrenheit 431, "The Shape Of Things", and "There Will Come Soft Rain"

I enjoyed all 3. I guess i can stand to read more, but just... haven't.

Fareneheit 451 was really boring. I don't think I finished it. I've read that time-travel short story as well; I enjoyed that one.

Ah, come to think of it I have read Fahrenheit 451 (sorry @J.T. Woody, your books are only lightly browned :) ). That was slow. Interesting concept, but slow. A Sound of Thunder was another interesting concept, clumsily (IMO) executed. The movie was an abomination.

    What about Bradbury Stories?

It is a massive collection of his shorts.
Mind you some of them are hit or miss,
since they are all different genres.

If 451 was forgettable for you, then he's likely not your author. I've only read three of his books — Fahrenheit 451, Something Wicked This Way Comes, and Dandelion Wine — and I can't rave about them enough.

I'm very annoyed by depiction of science in most media. I know most writers don't have the familiarity with science, but really? Is that necessary?
