Use of Weapons, by Iain M. Banks. His best book, IMHO (his opinion too). If you want to stay in order, his first Culture book was Consider Phlebas, which is also amazing and it your general "dark SF" genre.

You could get one of those lists of 100 greatest novels and pick from there. They're good for your brain and stuff.

I've had really good results from using this list. Favorite so far, The Fifth Season and its sequel, The Obelisk Gate.

I were thinking more of personal opinion, not some list that some body else made up.
But I will give you an A for effort.:)

    But...I gave you both...

The first being a personal opinion on the list as a whole. I've read 10 or more books from that list and loved most of them...

    Watching Blazing Saddles

Townsfolk show sherif flier seeking criminals to destroy their town for $100 a day

Sheriff: Well can't you see that's the last act of a desperate man?
Townsperson: We don't care if it's the first act of Henry V. We're leaving

I laughed way harder at that stupid joke than I should've

It's one of those movies my parents let us watch as children they really, really shouldn't've

My mom's favourite Mel Brook's film is Young Frankenstein (also Wilder) but I think mine is Robin Hood: Men in Tights with Blazing Saddles a really close second

My fave Mel Brooks movie is History of the World Pt 1. Though Gene Wilder isn't in it.
Young Frankenstein is a good one.

If you expect a creative work (and I'm using "creative" very loosely here) to be bad, but decide to watch/read/listen to/partake of it anyway, and it turns out to be much worse than you thought it would be, did it disappoint your expectations, or fulfill them beyond your imagination?

In unrelated* news, Macross vs. Power Rangers' Bad Guys really, really sucked.

So out of the blue, my brain reminded me that I was going to die.

Yes. Die. I would one day pass on.

I'm not sure where it came from, nor do I know if it has any meaning, but it happened. My brain just decided to remind me that I was going to die. That it was inevitable. I would lose consciousness and...that'd be it.

    I would die.

My three favourite book shelves, out of my 4 full & 2 half sized book cases~

And yes, I do have Rurouni Kenshin & Koibana up there with Tolstoy, Austen, and the complete works of Shakespeare

I argued for cutting our wedding cake with one of my swords. Wife didn't agree.

..why though. Who wouldn't want to cut a wedding cake with swords? I'd cut a wedding cake with a sword...

Edit: I just read through that again and you have swords?

    ..I want a sword.
