From an inside source in the industry regarding the purchaser of RoF: "This is -not- good news for those who hope it will remain a viable market. Here's a quote from SFWA's Writers Beware topic: "Let's just say that this is a publisher whose staff are not blessed with an abundance of professional experience, and whose business policies are questionable. I received a complaint about Damnation in early 2010 from an author who asked for early termination of her contract, and got a "termination agreement" demanding an $800 termination fee (no fee was mentioned in the contract). Kill fees (and professionalism) are also apparently a problem at Damnation's imprint, Eternal Press. Some pretty revealing discussion on threads at Absolute Write, about Damnation." Unfortunate Maybe they'll take a hands-off approach, if they're leaving most of the staff in place.
Aside from that, a lot of subscribers are going to be nervous about taking out subscriptions, given the past instabilities. So I'm expecting another collapse, to be honest.
