What a movie I watched it on dvd three days back. It was slow going to start with but classic rocky style i liked the ending too not too corny as id have imagined it to be. Though the film had a kind of sad feel to it making the charactors feel lonely as he and his brother in law grow old. and his releationship with his son remained rocky. But in general i thought the film was well written and the acting was supperb
Actually i've seen that one and i didn't mind it. I get the impression it was meant to be slow though because the story was about an ageing boxer coping with the loss of his life long love wife adrian and the broken relationship with his son. As well as his brother inlaws ageing problems. I wouldn't have given the film 5 stars but four definatly
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGG!!! the suffering! Nah, just sort of kidding. The movie was slow but there were some funny bits in there amongst all the corny mush. I watched it to show my devotion to my boyfriend. I amused myself and others while spilling popcorn allover the cinema floor. Aaaddddrrrriiiiiaaannnn!!!!!!
I don't understand why people get so excited about this film. The concept is old hat and not very original. An aging boxer who has been out of the ring for a long time and thus deemed useless and so decides to take up the gloves one last time to prove to everyone he can still knock some major teeth out? And the old cliche with that is the decision to go ahead with this after the main character's partner dies? Oh, puhleeze! Sly Stallone is the biggest and notably the most notorious shyster in hollywood who rips others off all the time!
