    Hello. :0)

I hope this is an alright place to post this question. If not, I apologize in advance! :0)

I'm an experienced rper and rpger and writer, however, I've never GM'd a game that had "rules" beyond text for battles. I've written in them before, but never gm'd one. All of the games I've GM'd were mainly text based. I have an rpg that I would like to start at some point (I've had it in mind for years) but was hoping to get a little bit of battle guidance.

My rpg has some definite direction and some specific baddies and I'm wondering if someone would like to share with me their methods for doing battle. In the past I have developed relationships with writers that I had gotten familiar enough with that we didn't need "rules of engagement" but since I'm new here, I thought it might be helpful?

I would just love to get all of the technicalities of gming with a bit more structure down before I launch my rpg. Thanks in advance for your help. :0)

Raven, I read the rules you posted and you did a nice job explaining the different rpg styles. Thanks for being so helpful.

There's a story that I've started writing quite a while back and plan to make into a full novel. I believe that the plot would play out great as a roleplay so is it alright to use the plot since it is basically the same within my story? (I'm not posting the story on any forums, it's my own personal piece.)

I don't see why it wouldn't be ok. If I ever start a rpg; I probably wouldn't have it take place during the plot, but I would probably use the same world that my stories take place on.

The RPG that I'm starting in August is a piece of a novel I'm writing. I always thought it would be fun to see how it would play out in an rpg. It just means I'll be more particular about who writes in it and will probably have a little more guidance as the GM. :0)

I think it's a completely fair thing to do. :0)

I'm thinking of creating a rpg. I'll probably do it a couple of weeks from now. Would any want to play a zombie survival game?

Well, atleast I got one person. I was thinking about going with the normal zombie cliche and having the characters stuck inside a mall.

Wreybieas and I were mulling over an RPG version of the Golden Orb Game. I got the proposal fleshed out, and then we both decided that neither of us wanted to be GMs. The proposal is as follows:

    Dear Recipient;
You have been invited to participate in the QUEST FOR THE GOLDEN EGG. This Quest will be held on my private island, ISADORA'S HEART. The island resembles a bar, which is part of your journey. You will be transported to the mouth of the island and must get to the heart of the island. Only one person may reach this location*, and this person shall receive the GOLDEN EGG, a prize with greater value than it appears.

Every five days, the participants must stay at one of my lodges. The entry fee is five quality posts, ten or more sentences each. Unforunately, failure to enter a lodge on time will result in expulsion from the island.

Only one may possess the GOLDEN EGG. If you are interested in this quest, please click the {something specific about your avatar} to your left, and PM {whomever mods the game} your name, and all vital information, as well as which FOUR items you wish to bring to the island with you.

    Your participation is greatly appreciated,
    Alexandra McCraig
*I would like all participants to remeber that senseless killing is another reason for expulsion from my island~ AM

I thought somebody might want to run with this, tweaking as he/she sees fit. Have fun or ignore it depending on your preference:)

    Idea....

    Hey guys!
Well, I'm in the process of being an RPG player and thoroughly enjoying myself. TONS of fun. I'm thinking I might just try my hand at GMing sometime soon, and I had an idea.

What would you guys think of an RPG set in my own fantasy world? I have links in my sig to my blog, which contains some world information (gotta get more up there), and to my story thread (gotta get more up there ;) ).

The focus of the game will likely be relationships over combat. Don't get me wrong, we'll have a lot of action to get mixed up in, but character conflicts (internal and external), romance relationships, and general character growth and building will be primary objects of affection (for lack of a better term).

This likely won't be starting until the beginning of September. I'm starting my fourth year of university, working over the Net, and I'll have a little more free time to check the posts and such. I just figured I'd post here first to see if there'd be any interest in something like this, and if maybe I should start my planning right now.

Anyway, lemme know what you think!

Ok, I have an idea for an RPG that I pulled out of my butt while I was bored reading and watching movies.

I'm not sure if anyone has thought of this before, and I really hope to make this work, but I had an idea for a vampire-type of RPG. Not just vampires though, that's just an example.

I have the idea of making a story based on old fashion horror architypes such as vampires, witches, goblins, werewolves, and stuff like that but set with a modern feel to it. I don't want to work on this thing alone and I'm hoping that I can find someone who feels compelled enough to work with me on this idea.

In all honesty, I want this to be as big as Phoenix Colony which I'll say Foxee did an awesome job doing and I wish I would have participated in.

    Well...

I would like to collaborate and work with someone who would like to do an RPG that involves monsters from classic horror stories set in a modern day era. Something dark and horrifying but with enough action provided for those who love it.

I don't have a general story down yet and I've been asking people lately about ideas but I'd like some help from anyone who's passionate about action-horror.

Please people do not post pictures in the RPG games. Its fine to post them in the discussion forum but not the active games I appreciate everyone taking time to work on their character profiles but the pictures are kind of a distraction.

    Thank you kindly.
