Hey, Raven, when is one able to open the Discussion thread? Can you open it before the RP starts so people can talk about it before making their characters?

 

Yes but only once the game has been listed in the stickied Coming Soon thread.

And while I'm on the subject, another question:

Which kind of setup are you guys most comfortable with:

a) The GM plays a character who leads the other PCs around, directly progressing the story when it slows down, or hits a snag.
or
b) The GM plays a character alongside the other characters, but doesn't lead the group, and leaves it to the players to figure out what to do/where to go next.
or
c) The GM doesn't join the rest of the cast, and instead focuses on controlling the NPCs and the environment, leaving the players to explore it on their own terms.

As I said - it's only by permission of the site owner. I am not he. But that permission was mostly given in the early days of the site. The current trend is to limit sigs, because of the ridiculous extremes people have taken them to.

 

Ah well I guess I am on my own in figuring that one out

 

I like any of these; although the game where I think I had the most fun used a style similar to c). We were given a little more freedom to engineer interesting situations, while still staying within the domain of the rules and the GM's guidance.

But any style works for me!

 

What happened to the discussion thread for 51? Did you close it along with the main thread? I thought it was able to stay open at least:

 

Again, is the 51 Discussion thread permanently gone or just hidden? If hidden, could some friendly mod un-hide it?

When does it end/start

When does a particular RPG end or start? I'm kinda confused and I don't think I can join midstream through an RPG...so I'll just wait it out. Can anyone PM me with this useful and very precious info? TYYYY
