That makes it sound like you're not coming back! I'm having an episode now... Are you kidding? Steampunk would be a lot of fun. I'd join that. Sorry, I've been a part of so many roleplay chats with vampires in them that the whole subject just turns me off.
Well I'm creating an X-Men RP that I think could go strong. A lot of RPs in other places don't take off sometimes because people are unsure on where they are supposed to be going so I hope I can fix this by putting set goals beforehand or in the first post. I have a problem though. I want to include players to be not only in the X-Men, but in The Brotherhood as well. If I do that then there would be somebody who would have to take the mantle of The Brotherhood or if not I could be the leader of both teams.
Well, splitting up the players into two seperate groups can be troublesome, and need a lot of GM attention, as was proven in 51... It's kinda hard to do, so personally, I'd vote against it. Although I'm sure it can be pulled of, if the GM is determined. Don't forget that you won't just be playing those two factions; you also have an entire world to watch, so might as well make it easy on yourself.
like literally x-men?... or an x-men type of rpg with a group of dark, edgy superheroes?... cuz i'm down for that, too...
GM means head it up, basically... control it... i forget the abbreviation, but it's the cat in charge of the story...
Okay, then maybe I should give everyone a choice on it. Either I take full control of The Brotherhood, or someone else can, and the third option is that I'll still handle the story progression with The Brotherhood, but the reader's can put in suggestions for the team's roster. Mine's is supposed to start in February.
S-wo if you go to the Gamemaster's Guide it'll give you tips on how to run a game. There is also a Player's Guide, and Roleplaying Rules. Might be of some help to read these before starting a game.
Another way to do it otherwise is start off as leader of the Brotherhood and once the game kicks off and you get a feel for the players you can always kill off the guy and appoint one of the players. I think 51 could of worked alrite sadly Emerald just disapeared. The thing you need to be careful of is one group doesn't get to ahead and the other falls behind but thats hard to control as its based on player activity.
weird, i wanted to make a vampire story set in a baroque/victorian/steampunk type setting, a la the great Vampire Hunter D movies.
i just wanted to do some vampire ish... any vamp ish that didn't have humans vs vamps... everybody's split in half about it... we can do that ish anyways...
If you do it right I'm sure you can convert people. I'd be interested. Ah vampire hunter D so strange lol
If there would be dancing smilies, there would be a line of them below this message It's comming along nicely, with some help from Jade, who I've been harrasing with parts of the opening post If there is anyone else who thinks he or she has the time to take a look at the material, let me know
