Just keep in mind, spring is coming for many, so everyone is getting outside for the good weather. Once it gets too dang hot, they come back. I was thinking about sparking up a few of my old ones that I had to let subside. Anyone else got any ideas? School is about to end so I'll have more time.
I have a few ideas I've been developing for different things for years, and which I hope to adapt for this. Namely: *A group in a fantasy world who are trying to find a number of magical artifacts to use to rebuild the world after a soon-to-come and inevitable apocalypse. *An Nazi-steampunk alternate reality in which WWII was lost and Germans now control America. Involves freedom fighting, subterfuge, human experimentation, and superpowers. *A half-silly Hitchhiker's Guide-esque adventure, focusing on a spy organization that hides its activities by broadcasting them to the world. Features a man who wants to be Darth Vader, weapons of small-town destruction, a professional potato, schizophrenia, and transdimensional mimes. Unfortunately, I will be working nights this summer and will thus have a very odd schedule. On top of that, none of these are fully developed for a proper RPG yet (The spy one was originally conceived as an animated series, but I'm thinking of making it an RPG just to not waste the storyline and world.) I could throw the fantasy one together in a pinch, but we have enough of those already.
like the first and third ones, I played Turning point and that wasn't very good. You play as a construction worker in New York who just happens to know how to shoot a gun and kill a man. LOL, I still can't get over "death by toilet" kill.
Turning Point: Fall of Liberty is a game where it scenarios, what if the Nazi party won WWII. How it turns out is that when Winston Churchill was driving he got into an accident, that left him partially paralyzed where he had to walk with a cane for the rest of his life, if the car he hit had been only a fraction of a centimeter off, he would have died, leaving mediocer prime ministers to take his place. Great Britain would eventually have been conquered, then the entire African Continent along with Russia. WWII had ended, and the allies had lost. Now only one place remains, The United States of America, with their new Jet Fighters and Zeppellin bombers they immediately invade the States starting with New York. You play as a construction worker now enlisted into the army. Once they reach D.C. a new German president is instated ordering all troops to cease fire on the German armies, now you're not in the U.S. Army, you're in a rebel group bent on stopping the German invasion. That's pretty much what happens, its fun for a while, but it gets boring real easily.
I see. Well there definitely are similarities, but mine was to focus on an underground resistance group in an already-conquered former United States. And we lost the war due to penicillin not being discovered. (in real life, Fleming did pretty much everything in his power to avoid the discovery. The famed petri dish was literally in the sink before he noticed the mold's actions, and he ended up giving up on the project, swooping in to steal the glory when others finished it.) Also, mine incorporates superpowers. But yeah, I guess the "Germany won" alternate reality has already been done enough. My other ideas are more developed anyhow; I'll just work on them.
there is actually a book on it, called Intended target I believe, you can tell just by looking at the cover because there is a jet fighter with the swatstika and the jet looks modern.
Sorry, I would've paid more attention had I not been bogged down with so much GCSE work. Come the summer I have a feeling I'll be a hell of a lot more active on here. The oppurtunities too good to miss up. I think i'll keep it open for now until the summer then, just to see if any interest picks up. I'm particularly keen to see the story through to completion but if nothing comes by summer I'd be fine with closing it. I'll use my free time after the exams for a llittle preparation just in case...I'm just grateful it's beeing given a chance, =) If it does go downhill, I might join another RPG...is it okay to be part of one and manage another at the same time? EDIT: Dang, I misunderstood that it would have to be open in the first place. Sorry again!
I'm doing that right now and no one's complaining. Though I haven't exactly been the most active in the one I'm not GMing...
Fullmetal Alchemist: Steam-punk, everyone's German, has corrupt government and a sort of military Coup, human experimentation, and super powers/really cool alchemy. Has pretty much everything you mentioned. Just that the entire back story is completely different
Yeah, but as long as you stay away from half uman half animals, alchemy, mechanical arms and legs, and homunculi you ought to be fine.
How about Clones. Okay you know we are cloning sheep and humans. Well we cloned humans with special abilities, psychic abilities. But the Clones don't like being treated as non human weapons. And they fight in space ships all the human militaries. That was a really simplified and dumb down summary.
Noticed people how no one is on here? I think that means, we should just stop posting RPs on here, cuz whats the point of having only 2-3 people playing one RP?
Just because it's been done before doesn't mean it won't be fun, or that a new and ingenuitive twist can't be worked in.
Leaka, 1. People are suggested to go there, they willingly go there, and they find it much better than here. 2. There is a reason why PM's were invented. 3. Stop acting like a baby, you made the wrong move, you payed the price, end of discussion. As to anyone else, please, ignore this conversation. Thank you
