    Hi,

I'm new here, I was just wondering whether we can start little topics (say between two or three people at a time) where we can get a character from something we're working on and have a completely random chat in their roles. I suggest this because I'm having a hard time with dialogue which is real and individual to a character. I'm writing my first story so this is extra hard for me...

Is there something like this already available?

Anyone interested in doing a space opera themed RP? Nothing overtly fancy or complicated but heavily character driven?

There was an RPG lounge for this at one point, but it got derailed and abandoned.

This would be fun. I'm not much for writing RPGs but I'd like to see this happen.

Does anyone here program? I know that this is a writing site, but i'm actually trying to learn how to program as well so if anyone can show me a few things that would be so cool. right now all i can to is TI BASIC... and that totally sucks cause you cant run it on a computer!

Sorry Dannielle. but software programming is not a topic on this site. There are some of us, myself included, who are professional software developers (or students), but you really should look to one of the many good discussion forums dedicated to programming to learn more about that subject.

There's no law that says you can't be a member of more than one forum. This one focuses on writing creatively.

It's REALLY off topic for this thread, which is for Role Playing Games (not RPG Report Program Generator language).

With Crimson Rose wrapping up I'd be willing to try a new RPG. Unfortunately, as pretty much anyone here can probably attest, I have a bad habit of not posting when I say I will (and my connection problems don't help) so you may not want to log me into your official tally.

Log me in to the tally. I had to leave the last one, and I wasn't about to jump midway into it again. But I will stay for the next cool RPG idea since it's summer now.

Personally I feel that Zombie Apocalypses have been waaaaaaaay too overplayed in games, movies and on sites like this one. I could name 10 right off the bat, not including sequels.

I've never done an RPG before, but I think either a space opera one or a zombie one would be cool. One like the Lord of the Rings would also be cool. If i had to pick one though, I would definitely choose the space opera.

I vote space opera, and may be willing to help with some of the story ideas and such for anyone who wants to run it. Just PM me, I was looking forward to a good summer side-project.

I can't create it solely though, or run it, because I've yet to do this before or finish a full RPG...so...yeah. =/

I could probably help. Theoretical physics are fun so...

Plus, out of the RPGers here, I think I've had the most successful RPG. Or the best since A kiss from light crimson anyways.

DB, I have more posts than EOD!

Oh, and if anyone is interested, or if these other ideas don't work, I've got some ideas running around for a post-post apocalyptic rpg (Meaning after post apocalypse. The world has had some time to repair) involving cybernetic implants, terrorists, a Hashshashin time group, and maybe some small mechs.

    Its an idea anyways.

I'd love to maybe jump into an RPG sometime (probably not in the near future though), but really I just want to know exactly what a "Space Opera" is. I have never heard of this before.

Space opera is like Star Wars kind of.

I'd prefer a space opera to the post-apoctalyptic one, but I would still be highly interested in the Post-Apoc. one if that's what's goin' down.

star trek is really more of a space opera than star wars. Star wars is more of an adventure following the heroic monomyth.

It seems to fit the definition to me. What about Star Wars makes it not a space opera?
