I don't really have the time to invest in starting one myself at the moment, though I'd almost definitely join a new one if someone else did. That said, I'm not much of a fan of zombies...

Then again, if a few people could come to a consensus of sorts on what they'd like to see, and it just so happens to be something in the typical fantasy/pseudo-medieval setting, I don't think I'd be able to resist the temptation to get things rolling myself. That said, I am a bit of a strict RPG admin in most regards. I personally review character apps as they come in, and don't allow things like PC wizards, half-elf demigods or child prodigy mind readers. Not that it means everyone must be just another average joe, but the moment characters can deus ex themselves out of tight situations, the game becomes unfun.

In other words, I don't tend to admin these sorts of things very often. But would be willing to, if no one else does. My RP fix has been sorely lacking of late!

 

I'd be really happy with a fantasy-esque RPG, though I'm not quite confident enough to start one myself I'll keep watching in case someone else does and be glad to get involved.

I'm not really into SF or modern/realistic type RPGs though, fantasy would be my preferred idea. Or just medieval, really...

Hope someone starts something soon! Used to do a lot of these but haven't in so long, I'm really looking forward to getting back into it.

Guys! Someone needs to start a new RPG! I'm thinking of doing it - a fantasy one. Who would be up for that, and what would people want to see?

 

I'd like to give it a try as a player again. I don't have a lot of time anymore, but I've been wanting to do something creative.

 

I was thinking something like the Final Fantasy series - it's sci-fi mixed with fantasy, and you're not really sure what sort of time period it would fit. For example (for those of you who haven't played the games), you'd have some people fighting with swords/spears/fists/magic, and others using high-tech machinery.

 

I could be up for that. I typically keep myself pretty busy, but I'm sure I can find time to jump in on a regular basis for a fantasy RP.

I am familiar with Final Fantasy, though I'm only really a fan of SquareSoft's FFs.

 

This fantasy role play sounds like a pretty cool idea - I'd be in for it! I would only hope it would not be based on the actual Final Fantasy system, as I have never played the games at all.

 

Haha, no way - there would be no point or battle system, just limitations to characters, etc. I'll get thinking of a storyline - I think I have one in mind already, just need to flesh it out a bit.

The last SquareSoft Final Fantasy was FFX. After that SquareSoft merged with Enix and became SquareEnix. FFX-2 was the first SquareEnix game.

 

Ohhh right. They're still the same company though... they have the same people working on the projects, and FFX-2 and FF13 were brilliant! FF12 on the other hand... not so much!

@demented-tiger: Just the normal sort of limitations, like, you can't have a power that controls other character's actions, mind read, you can't be a demi-god... those kind of limitations!

I would have to completely flesh out the storyline first, on top of work and school work, so give me a week or two!

Its a good site for any and all RPers of many levels, theres everything from actual RP games to arena matches and 1 on 1 RPs. I've been using this site for a few years now and its been good to me. Hope to see you all there.

 

www.myth-weavers.com is another good RPG site. Lots of good people for PBP games.

 

Technically Oasis Writer is the mod here, and though it appears that he gets on now and then, he hasn't actually posted anything since August... And Teele is technically still a moderator here. (and watch posting about other rp sites here. Cogito might get onto you for that.)

Also, I think a new RPG could be fun. Although what I really want is a modern fantasy rather than a fantasy. I like the whole idea of fireballs and grenades all in the same place. But I'd love to join a new rpg. Although, I'm fairly swamped with AP Literature and my wonderful new girlfriend, so my time to post would be limited.

 

Would anyone be interested in an Urban fantasy setting RPG? Maybe some kind of mystery, or suspense story?

 

I would be, but perhaps not mystery. Mystery rpgs are possible, but difficult to make work since few rpgers are good enough at writing mysteries to keep everyone from figuring it out right away. But I would very much like some modern or urban fantasy.

I'm considering starting one up, one with more lenient rules than Crimson and with a less GM driven plot, but there's no way I'd have the time to be a GM. I've got too much to do.

 

An urban fantasy RP sounds rather interesting. I'd be up for it, but I also don't think I'd have time to GM an RP...

 

I've got time. I could be GM. All we'd need is permission. You could give me your ideas, so it wouldn't be "all me".

Although, I've previously sent a request for an RP to Oasis, and have yet to hear from him. That was about a month or so ago.

 

Hmm... It seems that if we get enough people together, enough people who are ready and willing to RP and have shown that they have also participated in the other sections of the forum, I think we might be able to have a new RP section moderator elected. The thing though is that there has to be the need. There's no reason to have a moderator for just 5 or 10 people...
