I did not know this thread existed... lol Check out 'Imperium of Surmarack'! Its turning out to be pretty epic, and i'm looking for an Isthus character to round out the diversity!
Yeah, I know!!! LostHawken, I think today you are leading our battle for RPG world domination. (It's now 477! It keeps growing higher...)
World Domination! Woo hoo!! Had an idea for another RPG, wanted to throw it out there. Quick overview: A group of people, hundreds of years ago, got tired of the way the world was constantly fighting and not caring for one another. Set in modern day earth, we dive under the ocean to discover a group of people (or Merfolk as they have dubbed themselves) living in peace and harmony since their new home was created. They hope that one day earth will mature, becoming peacefull, and they will be able to return to the surface. They have advanced techonlogically much more quickly than those on earth because everyone works together. Unfortunetly, 70 years ago a group of Merfolk became tired of waiting and have split into their own faction (name not yet decided). Their goal, to annilate the people on the surface and start over with their own people, hoping to create the ultimate Utopia. Thoughts?
Interesting idea, LtW, though if you're intending to wage a global war in the RPG, might be a bigger project than you want to tackle without some serious planning.
Is it at all a coincidence my housemate is watching an episode of One Piece involving Fish-Men fighting each other/humans right as I read your idea?
Um...I'd say yes...but we RPGers tend to develop superhuman abilities the longer we play/write. Which would explain why losthawken is so convinced we have a chance to dominate the world some day.
Sounds like a fun idea, LtW! I've never played a mermaid before. And, oooh, yes, I must be gaining a superpower then. I think mine is developing into complete memorization of certain things, because after I read our RPGs I am known to recall each scene in great detail without looking. Just ask my sister.
You wouldn't actually be a mermaid. They are still humans with suits that allow them to swim at great depths in the ocean. The suits, however...make them look like mermaids thus creating the legand of Merfolk.
im actually really digging this idea...like really digging it, it reminds me of the Artemis Fowl series. i'd definitely play.
Hi Asune, Welcome to our league of RPers. If I recall correctly, there are actually quite a few new RPGs that have been recently posted. Browse through them, and choose whichever ones seem to your liking (remember to read the rules and story of the RPG too; it'll tell you how to create your character, and where to start). When in doubt, try the Newcomer's Game: The Orb of Pyritus. The rules and objectives are simple, and you have a lot of breathing room for character creation. That being said, the Orb of Pyritus is well into its second chapter already. I recommend reading some of its first entries (to get a feel for how it works), and some of its latest entries (to catch up on story so far). Cheers.
Thanks I already have experience with RP though, so I don't think I'll have problems with the characters creations, as long as I make it fit the world and its laws
@Pheonix Welcome to Rapture, would you kindly stay? @LTW Did someone say Merfolk? Was this idea sparked from New Hope? Also, I think I'm developing the ability to be able to see small symbols as sounds, then translating those sounds into questions, commands, exclamations, and so much more!
@Snowmantheroy, no. It actually was a totally original idea. As for your new found ability...I LOVE IT! Lost, have you developed any abilities like the rest of us?
I think I'll join the next RPG new that appears, if it fit my likes. I don't like to join RP when are on the middle of the process
@Asune If you're interested, Imperium is still just getting going! Plenty of room for new people! You should take a look at it! @LtW I think i'm developing the ability to live in 4 different realities at once!
