I'm pretty busy lately and we aren't quite as active as we used to be but have this idea for another crime game.

Non connected to Minds. (very different focus...not really of that corrupt companies stuff)

I'm pretty good at crime RPs but not sure if will do it, just kicking it around but its certainly new.

A series of unfortunate connecting events.

The white mage, bringer of purity, cleanser of filth. He was given to us by light.

In 2018 humanity was poisoned by the curse of filth and corruption, a punishment of the devil some called it, others the fault of people’s arrogance.

But fear not, for the white mage had arrived and promised that he would heal us.

Vain promises, the twisted tongue of another cursed leader was claimed as well. But he did show his feats, and in the course of five years the disease had been greatly reduced.

It still exists though, and the white mage by himself if not enough. Hence, under his glorious hand he had taken numerous students.

However…

What did bring the curse of filth to humanity?

What if that was just the beginning?

And…

Who is in real the white mage and what are his true intentions?

This is a world in which fantasy, science and technology collide. An alternate age of ours in which people can slightly modify the aspect of reality with the help of magic born from people’s technology. And as expected of fantasy, the world is also populated by creatures you would expect from a fairy tale or horror story, however, thanks to the efforts of mankind, treats from monsters are little and living with otherworldly creatures is something completely natural, hey! Your neighbor may even be a vampire, say hi to him all the day, worry not, he is not gonna suck your blood or rape your daughter, relationship’s issues with other beings had already been solved years ago.

The problem although is another

Of an unknown cause, a disease was brought causing severe deformities upon people’s bodies and slowly corroding their insides leaving to numerous deaths across the globe. As it only targets humans, some had claimed it may be the work of other species and slowly tension had raised. A decade more and probably all the efforts to maintain a stable relationship would had been broken weren’t by the intervention of a man who calls himself the white mage sent by the divines to cleanse this evil disease.

The year is 2024, however do not expect a big development, certainly, technology had advanced, but focused in the area of magic, hence the world is still the same we all know. This includes all the dark side within it.

The Unnatural World
For longer than records here on Earth will tell, there have always been supernatural creatures hiding among the human race and out of sight. Perhaps there was a time long ago when they showed themselves to the human race, unafraid of punishment or execution, but if there was ever such a time, it has been gone for a long, long time.
Vampires, werewolves, demons, goblins, and any mysterious being of ancient legend, was thought up for a reason. They exist, out of sight to most, or hiding as one of us. However, the human race is in little danger of attacks. Aside from in fighting on the part of supernatural beings, there is also the fear of human aggression. The worst humans have to worry about is each other...

World War 2
The 1930's and 1940's saw great tragedy throughout the world. The Great Depression, the Holocaust, Hitler's rise to power. Hitler's ambition, and the rise of the Nazi Party in Germany resulted in a conflict that would be remembered for years to come. War had spread all through Europe, Northern Africa, and Asia. Germany was taking over Europe, France was taken over, Britain was heavily bombed despite being well protected by water on all sides. The United States, still going through it's Great Depression, could only stay out of it for so long.
And beneath the thick blanket of chaos, psychotic, Unnatural forces were at work.

D-Day
On June 6th, 1944, Allied Forces invaded the beaches of Normandy, opening up a second front from which to fight the Germans and beginning the liberation of France from the Nazis.
This is where our story begins.

Gameplay
This is an rp that focuses on the plot. I trust the players to work for that, instead of just making their character as badass as possible.
This roleplay will include soldiers from all nations, Axis and Allies, as well as resistance fighters from countries under German control, and even a few civilians from countries involved in WW2.
D-Day will be the first part of this RP, and only the Allied soldier characters will be able to participate. After that, the other characters, resistance, Axis, and civilian characters can start.

Rules

1. Human only characters. None of the player characters will know magic either. You can be a soldier, resistance fighter with some kind of skill to survive financially, or a civilian who has never held a gun but has some kind of skill to help him/her make money. No player characters will be mages, vampires, or whatever.

2. Don't kill another player's character without their permissions. This is not that kind of RP where we are all trying to kill each other. That being said, stupid moves will get your character killed. If you are in a building full of enemies, for example, alone with only two guys, and you decide to try and gun win a gunfight with everyone in the building, you will be shot down by your enemies and your friends would be wise to run and hide while you get gunned down.

3. Whatever gun your character winds up using, you don't get unlimited ammo. Your character should have to reload or might even run empty. After which point another tactic, other than spray and pray, might be necessary.

4. The obvious, "no god modding" and "no over powered characters" rules apply."

5. No time skips without permission of the GM

6. Other rules may be added later on.

7. Don't make any assumptions about the rp about what you read so far. This isn't a COD rp. Its more survival horror than simple military.

ATTENTION!!!

I've constructed this RP as something possible we could do maybe? I've written this up as a somewhat rough draft but figured I'd share it with you all. Now note this game is not confirmed to happen yet but I wanted to see reaction first.

I didn't feel like doing a big epic fantasy or superhero RP do to schedule these days.....BUT I might be able to do my other love which is this type of story that is thankfully a little smaller.

Black Mask (Prototype title/possible RP?)

Los Angeles California, 1955.

There was once a point in a time long gone where a man could leave his door unlocked; a man respected his neighbors, children had respect for their elders and most of all the people honored family values. A time when people were more conservative, when boys were boys and girls were girls and your privacy was your own. The Korean War has ended just two years ago and America can truly stand as the greatest nation Earth with the power of industry and the atom bomb from the reach of the vice grip communism has taken in Russia.

The second world war has made LA into a hub of entertainment, social living and of course the Golden Age of Hollywood is in full swing where you can pay fifty cents to enjoy a Hollywood epic but be warned where there is money and fame there will always be people who seek to disrupt the piece.

The dark side of Hollywood is well and alive this decade but strange happenings have been taking place all over LA. This the story of an infamous scandal, an infamous incident that showed the public a level of violence they were't prepared for in the Summer of 1955.

Story

Three days ago a woman’s corpse washed up from the LA River, a rising young sixteen year old actress named Delores Acres famous for her roles in ‘When Were Wild’ and ‘Boulevard of Dreams’ Now her career cut short by the brutal hands of an unknown assailant.

Both her parents devastated including her father whom served as her manager not only at death of their child but level of hatred involved in the crime.

Even the police were speechless.

Besides this murder the new hotel 'Skyward Hotel' has become talk of the town and gossip, a hotel opened by a mysterious socialite for the famous, wealthy and starving artist to come and mingle with another and party.

Very few from the general public have ever seen the indoors but rumors abound of affairs, drug use and many more scandalous details.

Finally the Deflillpis Family is a dying mafia that has lost most of their power due to the police cracking down hard on the organized crime in LA and systematically picking apart for the last five years breaking up almost half of their family.

The Boss Carmine Defillips and his son the underboss Vincent Defillipis have been shipped off Alcatraz and others members have either went on to different organizations, left the state or been thrown into jail as well.

This has left them only with fifteen members in LA yet numerous associates still throughout California but now a mysterious alliance of both Chicago and New York gangsters has come to pick apart what is left of the now dying LA Crime Family and take their territory through either legitimate means or .......more 'friendly' ways.

So there we have it all the pieces are set for this tale.

The murder of the upcoming young starlet.

The odd Hotel that houses as many rumors as it does people.

The impending demise of a weak criminal empire as they scrounge to gather resources to defend what little power they have left.

Now who are you?

Are you a cop, perhaps investigating the murder or interested in putting as many thugs behind bars as possible?

Are you a Defillips or an associate of theirs under threat from both police and unknown mobsters from the Northeast?

Are you a person of the Hollywood life (director, actor, actress etc) whom is interested in the Skyward Hotel or the murder of one of your peer. (Deleroes)?

Where do you stand?

Setting

It is 1955.

So we will be using cars, clothing, hair styles, big nice metal cars and all that fit the period but don't worry I won't be forcing you to be the most accurate as possible, as this is an RP and not a book won't force everyone else to research the period in super detail.

That's up to you.

Just do your best to capture the vibe. But obviously no computers, no cell phones and none of the technology we have today.....not even arcades yet but we got television! It is also in Los Angeles in the summer so the weather is nice and hot ripe for some good Hollywood action.

Also racism is much more alive and well during this time (even segregation but Brown vs Board of Education just took place last year) it is also a more conservative period for the population at large but be warned paranoia and fear can run as freely during this period as they do now, perhaps even worse such as over the Communist and all to blatant racism.

These were simpler times before the age of social media and constant connection, massive big business choking the common man and goverments (at-least as blatantly as they seem to sometimes today) and at the same time it could be argued there is a more of a general trust among hard working Americans.

Playing

You can be anything you want but it must be directly involved with either the murder, the hotel or turf war getting ready to take place so cop, Hollywood (director, actress, actor or etc), crime family member, friend of someone from the murder victim's family, hotel worker.........ANYTHING!

But it has to be tied with one of the three main plot points in someway, other then that you can be clever and free as you want.

Rules (same as always)

-No controlling other peoples characters.

-No auto hitting

-No God-Modding

-No killing off others without the players permission.

-GM's word is law

-If you find yourself having a problem with another player then settle it in PM or PM your GM

-Be nice in OCC but in the IC feel free to behave as you like (heheheh :twisted:)

-Keep OCC in the discussion

-Don't post till intro post is up.

-Side stories are allowed just PM the GM first with the idea and we will make it work.

-CS's must be Pmed to the GM and be accepted before posting to on the OOC

Like I said its certainly possible but depends on what you all think also this is a somewhat rough draft (typed it up an hour just do it fast) and no exact guarantee.

I'd be interested, @Kingtype ! I've been dying to jump in on an RP since I got here, but this place is a ghost town. This one sounds super fun. I already have an idea for a character simmering away.

 

Will probably be a little too busy with rpnation to join Black Mask. Not to mention, im not really feeling murder mystery rp right now.
