I'm getting caught up on the story thus far and working on a character sheet. I'll try to get it to you sometime tomorrow. If not, definitely on Monday.
Considering Fox hasn't been seen for three weeks, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a more morally grey cyberpunk RP?
I might do. I've got about half my exams done so I have some more time. It just depends on whether I can read my way through everything that's been put down.
Alright people, all my exams are done so I'll likely be setting up a new RP. My question is what genre's would people be interested in?
I wouldn't mind seeing some high fantasy. Mages, elves, swordsmen, fatastical beasts, etc. Maybe even a reboot of Ascension. I miss that "questing" feel that the fantasy RPs used to have; you know, traveling across the land with a ragtag group of 'heroes,' visiting towns and taverns and sites of ancient power and mystery and living in a time when the world was wild and man was truly free... okay, I'll shut up now.
I'm tempted to restart that one, and if people don't want a high fantasy quest I have an idea for a RP set at the end of a fantasy world.
Murder mystery, urban fantasy, um... what else...? Let's keep listing out suggestions! Slice of life?
Oh, there's also horror as well... um... uh... I don't know, that's all the things that've popped into my mind at the moment!
In all honesty, while I am trying for a few horror moments in UH, I don't think it can be true horror. I have never done a true horror rp, so that would be cool. Also, if you want to make an urban fantasy bear in mind I will be either continuing an old one or starting a new one myself soon.
I now realise why it took me so long to get to know RPing in general There are (as far as I know) three genres that I actively avoid: -Horror -The Occult (also including vampires, ghost and other such stuff) -Fantasy (with only a very select group of exceptions). I'd be all in for a murder mystery though. Or maybe another attempt at sci-fi. I like superheroes too, as long as they don't fall under the abovementioned categories. I also really like that rag-tag group of heroes doing quests and stuff which is why it annoys me to no end that the fantasy genre seems to have hijacked that type of story.
I'm not sure how well horror would work in an RP, as while each person is in control and, as such, empathising with their character, horror often comes from lack of control or the unknowing. The first can't be done without godmodding, something I'm against, and the second is difficult without seeming like you're making stuff up on the spot. The other option is of course gore, but that seems dull. Our influence spreading. We took the action adventure genre thanks to pulp fiction, and thanks to A Song of Ice and Fire, we are claiming the political genre. Soon we shall infect everything, and people will have to realise fantasy is a setting instead of a genre. Muhahaha.
Just gone over the Ascension document, I think I'll rewrite the intro to clarify a few things and I've already added a few more pictures to make it less a block of text. And @obi-sem kenobi are you sure I can't tempt you to join? Any member is free to if they want.
To be quite honest, Pirates was already pushing my limits a bit, but with gods and goddesses I just really have to decline I'm afraid. Apart from the fact that I don't really like it it's also a religious thing. So I'm sorry, but as soon as there's an RP that I can comfortably play in again I'm in! I do miss you people and your writing.
I know this might sound a little weird, but would anyone be up for fantasy RP with 1910s level of technology where the players are police and having to deal with gangs?
