I'd love to join!
He's been gone a couple months, and last I spoke with him, he said he didn't have time for it. Sorry.
If you want to start your own, there will probably be a few interested parties, including myself. Let me know if you do!
Hmm... I've done roleplay before, but not through this site. Do you know of any ongoing ones I could join to get a feel for how it's done here?
Dead page, sorry. The last two I kept going for a while, but the other users disappeared. Sorry. You could read a few on here, it's play-by-post, and you can check out the rules. Otherwise not much here unless you start something. I'll be around if you need a player.
Avatar: the Last Airbender RPG
The Story: Rumor has it that the Avatar has finally returned after a hundred years of disappearance but the war still wages on. Even if true, there are still battles to be fought, people to save or to lose. It is said that destiny is inevitable, but like the clouds it can be shaped into our own destiny.
Plot Opening: You will start in a town in the middle of the Earth Kingdom a little before the start of the series. Through trial and tribulation you will explore the Avatar world and help put an end to some misery and, depending on how far the group gets, might even have a huge hand in helping end the war.
Follow the forum’s rules.
GM’s word is law.
Do not control the other players’ characters or any original characters.
No sex/Minimal cussing. (Saying airholes, fudge, or bleeding hog monkeys is perfectly fine and encouraged.)
All characters must be approved by the GM.
All Out of Character talk will have to be taken to the discussion thread.
Always post at least a paragraph (five sentences) or more. No less.
Play your character as you put them. Don’t decide between now and the game to change things up.
No multiple characters.
No god-modding. No trying to haggle the rules, like ‘Well, technically ice is a rock so as an earthbender I should…’ kind of stuff. Let’s try to keep the powers to what’s in the show.
This RPG will run in parallel with the series and all the original characters (Aang, Katara, Sokka, etc.) will be controlled by the GM but you’ll meet them when you meet them. If you figure out where we are in the Earth Kingdom and figure out the Gaang are arriving the next town over for an episode, then you can’t force the party to go there. There’s a chance you might never meet them and that’s okay.
Depending on your stats, you might be an okay bender or you might be an above average bender but that’ll depend on the difficulty of the challenge you’re facing. Don’t ever say you pulled off a successful maneuver even if your stats are high because that’s relative to the difficulty you’re facing.
Name: (last name optional)
Nationality: Fire Nation (Proper Fire Nation or the colonies?), Earth Kingdom (Where from?), Water Tribe (Southern or Northern?), Mixed (Where were you raised?)
Bender or Non-bender?
If mixed, state what kind of bender. (Note: Cannot be a southern water tribe bender unless properly explained in your bio.)
Non-bender: What is your weapon of choice? Choose 2. (Ex. Fans, swords, knives, chi blocking, etc.)
Biography/Background: (The more detailed, the better. Min. One paragraph.)
What your character is doing in a small Earth Kingdom town:
Profession, (if they have any):
Possessions: (Does your character have light, medium, or heavy armor? Do they have rope? Spark rocks? A memento from home? A sleeping bag? Your character starts with 5 gold pieces. You can have 10 possessions, anything more than that and you lose a gold coin for each item until it reaches zero.)
(Currency: 1 gold piece = 10 silver pieces = 100 copper pieces.)
(Only three). What the character is good at: (Ex. Keen strategist, (non-bending) healing, history nerd, nature survivalist, good swimmer, haggling)
(Only three). What the character is bad at: (Ex. Cooking, clumsy, navigation, etc.)
You have 68 points to spend in between these 6 traits. 20 is the highest you can go in one trait and 10 is considered the average. Do not leave any of these 0.
Training (How trained you are in your bending/weapons.)
You can choose multiple setbacks. Each setback will allow you to either
a) add an extra 2 points to a trait of your choosing
b) give you three more coins to start with
c) give you two more skills to be good at
D) give you another weapon of choice. (For benders, this is the only way you can have a weapon.)
E) If bender: you choose two setbacks and A-D don’t sound appealing, you can learn a specialized form of your bending.

((This is my first time doing anything like this. I'm just checking how many people will be interested, if you think I need to workshop this more, etc.))
@Lili.A.Pemberton please add more to the plot and background to give the players who don't know avatar too well a better grounding. Otherwise, excellent character sheets! After editing, please create a thread in the main section for the RPG and a thread in the discussion with similar title. I'll approve it when that happens.
Age of Dissolution
During the Age of Dissolution, world known as Nemurrak is an instance of Milky Way galaxy in far far far far far away future, where everything depends on the power Golden Heart, an entity, device, natural phenomenon, who knows, that allows for manipulation of reality. This has shattered whole galaxy and turned it into a colorful
wild-west/synthwave/neon/cyberpunk/biomechanoid/eldritch/psychedelic/fantasy world. While technology is still highly realistic (relative term, but we try to obey the basic laws of physics and not to go over the top THAT much, just a little bit. Similar to slightly toned down 40k), magic and supernatural (here called meta-reality) powers are still available thanks to the Golden Heart and also because of a place known as the Wasteland, which is a local version of hell, but different. Long story short, it is a fantasy in sci-fi settings with many unique twists and I have about 48 pages worth of detail-less rough settings to provide to anyone interested. I would describe it as medieval Mass Effect with WH40K, LotR, Trine, Dark Souls and many many more slapped together, bent and twisted in order to make an interesting blend.
This is only a quick description made to probe the waters, to check if anyone would be interested in this setting or not.
Those are a lot of descriptions that cover a lot of area. I'm interested, but I think you may want to narrow down a descriptive focus rather than a Hell of a lot of tags likening it to other things. Those tags already cover some serious ground on their own.
Thing is, it is incredibly hard to narrow down, because it has bits and pieces from everything. I could say that it is planar type of universe (how it is achieved would take a bit more of the space), with advanced technology, genetics and sentient machines, while mostly retaining the medieval feel except for some exceptions. Neon/synthwave/cyberpunk is there to add the style, it is going for the 80s aesthetics with a wild looking designs and bright neon colors.
But I think narrowing is not needed, it tells you all what Nemurrak offers and the rp would for example take place in a particular area, where some elements of the universe are more present than the others. But truth be told, it is wild and it is big, that is why those 49 pages are still highly general. I am not sure what is the policy in this area, if I am allowed to post at least the introductory part or if I am to rather send them personally. For those who are interested at least.
Is there a possibility to create the discussion thread in advance, where this conversation could be developed on greater scale? I wouldn't want to slag this place way too much, that is why limited my description to those mere tags.
