@Fan7asticMrFox Are you going to do another Scrolls of Iria post? I really want to put in my second post but I can't until I know where the story is going!
Name: Marcus Gender: Male Race: Human Age: 20 Appearance: Raggedy. His skin tone is a strange mixture of an extremely pale base (from so much time spent indoors and/or underground) with occasional patches of pink (from a number of accidents he's had while practicing fire spells); his hair is pitch black and shoulder-length, and he normally has at least some - but rarely all - of it tied into a ponytail; he tries to wear robes or shirts with loose enough sleeves that he can read and write notes in ink on his arms whenever he feels the need. Background/Family: Marcus is the foundling, servant, and arcane apprentice of Quintus Tiberius, one of the archmages in charge of the royal libraries. The lesson that Tiberius hammered into Marcus the most was that knowing how to use magic was not as important as knowing when not to, and that mages who think about how to use magic as a solution are always less successful than are the mages who look for a workable solution first and then, separately, whether to use magic to make the solution work better (“Magic is to be used as it is useful and to be learned for it’s own sake, it is not to be used for it’s own sake.”). Similarly, Marcus has a healthier respect for subtlety than he does for bombast, and thus he is much slower to put on “theatrical” displays of arcane force than are many of the other mages he has met so far, favoring instead to provide support from the sidelines in a fight whenever possible. When Tiberius went alone to Sin’Des Rei to meet a Drow mage that he had heard about, he sent Marcus to the castle of Highguard to deliver some research scrolls for one of Tiberius's colleagues to translate; however, Marcus has been waiting in the castle for over a week and the other mage has not made contact yet. Class: Wizard Sub-class: Elementalist
Welcome aboard Simpson! @Newtonium I do have a filler post ready to give you guys an idea of what is happening, but I will wait for a few others to write before putting it down.
It is kinda of awesome how many new people this game has brought in I welcome you all to the RPG forum!
@Arannir haha you really want to get going huh? Macaberz Marketing, Shamelessly advertising Big Macs and RP's since 2012! But all joking aside, I agree its good to see an influx of new players.
Pheonix did a collab post with Mac. Simpson and Motormouth need to get their intro posts out before I move on a bit. I don't want to rush them
Hooray, my first post in a game like this By the way, is there a rule about word count? My post felt a bit shorter than it looked on my word processor.
I made my post I know its short but im getting a feel for the story before it starts getting proper hard core mode on!
Right, lets hit the red button that says 'hardcore'. Very, very nice posts so far everyone. I like how all characters are sincerely worried and scared instead of shrugging it off and go on some sort of rampage. Apparently not one character thinks they can handle several guards, which is great because I am not a big fan of one man armies @AnonyMouse Lol at the lawyer magic, xD that was hilarious.
Sorry guys I didn't mention this in my CS but James doesn't like getting into fights. On the whole he prefers to be noticed as little as possible.
I've posted a little bit of filler to enhance the story. Highguard is being ransacked and the gates hold no escape. Those of you in the towns and streets are being herded into the castle like sheep. Your best bet is to hide away in the keep, somewhere dark perhaps. Maybe the servants quarter or the cellar. There are rumours of secret passageways into the mountains, but only a few wise old men know their locations.
Certainly not a bad way to start. And I have a sketch of what Raven's weapon looks like (if anyone cares). Sorry for the bad quality of the picture, the photoshop to make the colors (with "colors" I mean greytones, obviously) a little more clear and my not-so-good drawing skills.
*Raises hand* Uh, Mr. Fox...question. My character is a knight. He's going to fight if he comes across any of the invading knights...does that mean he's going to be corrupted or will the enchantment on his sword prevent that or should I just write that he doesn't run into any of the evil knights?
@Love to Write Aha good question! I was hoping someone would ask that. Only those of weak mind tend to bend to the corruption. I'm pretty sure your characters are all safe from that fate I do have a small bit of bad news however (nothing major!). Tomorrow I am on a business trip so I'm up early again and will not have time to post during the day. Hopefully I can catch up in the evening (GMT) and get something written, depending on how tired I am. On the plus side it does give your characters chance to develop (which I always love!) or bump into other characters running around like headless chickens in the castle! Creativity... ACTIVATE! For the time being... Fox out!
