So it happened again, this time no smilies or images: This was the offending passage and I could post both halves, just not in one post including this one so half of it is in the next post: "I recommend audio books if it's reading you currently find tedious. Not sure if Oz has the same library selection I have here in my library, but they are expensive to buy new. I began listening to books on long commutes, and driving back and forth to Oregon to see family."
"Get a few, I often hear the beginning and try another. Now I sometimes bring them in from the car because I can't wait to finish them." (Sans the quotes)
No, I was in the middle of typing the post when the error popped up. 11:05 am PDT in the New Member Intro thread, "Huck". Most of my past problems happened when editing or replying when there was a smiley, but the very first time it happened was also in the middle of typing a new post.
I'm in contact with my host right now regarding this. It's possible it might be solved (but I'm guessing probably not). If you see an error please post the time in this thread, I need some error times to find the cause. :/
Well, I'll try generating the problem again right now. I recommend audio books if it's reading you currently find tedious. Not sure if Oz has the same library selection I have here in my library, but they are expensive to buy new. I began listening to books on long commutes, and driving back and forth to Oregon to see family. Get a few, I often hear the beginning and try another. Now I sometimes bring them in OK, so I got the server error just now. Then I deleted the words, one at a time, trying to post each time. When I got to the above place in the sentence, the post went through.
So, trying it again, going forward from the problem place, once I deleted the word, from, in the sentence, the post was OK. I recommend audio books if it's reading you currently find tedious. Not sure if Oz has the same library selection I have here in my library, but they are expensive to buy new. I began listening to books on long commutes, and driving back and forth to Oregon to see family. Get a few, I often hear the beginning and try another. Now I sometimes bring them in .... the car because I can't wait to finish them.
I'll see if I can isolate one letter. I recommend audio books if it's reading you currently find tedious. Not sure if Oz has the same library selection I have here in my library, but they are expensive to buy new. I began listening to books on long commutes, and driving back and forth to Oregon to see family. Get a few, I often hear the beginning and try another. Now I sometimes bring them in fro the car because I can't wait to finish them.
Adding either of these two sentences to the above post caused the error to repeat, and yet I can post them both here: Deleting any letter from the offending word made the post OK. But the sentence I tried to write explaining what I did, caused the server error. I'll post that sentence below, if I can. If I delete any single letter from the word, from, the post works. It matters not which letter. I tried leaving 'from' in and deleting the next word, 'in' and the error message occurred.
I again got the error when replying to a quote with a smiley in it. Once I deleted the smiley everything was fine. It was around 10:10 today, PST (PDT? I can never keep that straight).
Alright, I'm slowly making progress on this. If you are getting the errors, please note the exact time and your IP address, as this will help my hosting company investigate more easily. I'm hoping they're at least appearing less frequently now.
I know lots of people can see one's IP address, but is it a good idea for us to disclose it in a post?
I don't think it's a huge issue, but I don't know for sure, so feel free to PM the post time and IP instead of posting publicly (you can check it here: http://whatismyip.liquidweb.com)
So annoying. I have an entire long thread that I can't post because of the server error. I am unwilling to keep deleting things until it will work so I'm just not going to post it. I sent a PM to @Daniel with my IP and the time it occurred.
