    I'll play-
There are two worlds and you can cross between in one of three ways: 1). Gates, 2). Spells to open portals to pull others through or 3). Opening a hole into the Abyss, which is what they call the space between the two worlds-This drives most who try to travel it insane.

We call the race on the 2nd world Elementals. They don't actually have any power over the elements, but when the ancient humans originally encountered them they misunderstood their language: their words for their ethnic groups/races happen to be the same for certain colors/elements. So Fire/Red, Air/White, Earth/Brown, Blue/Water. They never bothered to correct us because they liked the mystique.

In their society, everything is based off magic power, to the point that talking verbally to someone versus mind to mind using a spell is considered an insult. Forcing someone to deplete their magic to the point they have to communicate verbally is a huge insult (as in a slight on the family, cause for blood feud levels). Those of their race who can't use magic are called the Voiceless and are given to the slavers guild and bought/sold. Given this, you can guess their opinion of humans who did not have any magic when they first encountered them.

My (Primary) protagonist wouldn't have killed the antagonist's father (The protagonist's best friend) if it weren't because of how she was setting her father in a dark path; therefore, the antagonist causes the protagonist to take action and assume his role in the story, which then causes the antagonist to assume her role in the story by seeking revenge. She literally caused the whole thing to happen (In more than one way), but still blames him.

Another protagonist is a 800 years old skeleton clad in a full body gold-coated armor. Back when he was born people fought with swords and shields, now they shoot each other with flintlocks and cannons. He seeks to redeem himself dying in battle in order to be allowed into the afterlife. Thing is, he's so good at fighting that no one can defeat him. The more he fights the more experienced he becomes, which makes it harder for him to fulfill his goal. Yes, he's been at it for most of those 800 years.

Also, there's a black guy nicknamed Blood Sausage.

The setting of my story takes place on an orbital ring
that was built by conservative race of aliens,
for the soul purpose of being their own personal
adult playground. Which in turn became a hub for
many other species to patron or citizen on, in a
melting pot of cultures, alternative lifestyles, and
    sexual desires and fantasies. :p
Or if they just need a nice vacation for a few days,
to just escape from the humdrum of the workaday
    life. :)

Hope this thread starts back up again.
My main character comes home to find a gaboon viper on the recliner. There are dozens of venomous snakes, hundreds of tarantula enclosures, and some crazy expensive parrots in the house. Yes, her house gets robbed.
Fun fact, gaboon viper bites have only a 50% survival rate. Also I've been writing this when I should probably be eating lunch at school...

The world (Nuhyrv) of my story is essentially set in the Mesozoic Era so... dinosaurs (or at least an equivalent).

Due to the nature of this planet, humans (and all the native animals) have developed a special crystalline gland in their brains that allows them to use psychic powers, so to speak.

    • There are 14 realms including the human realm.
    • Arranged in a circular pattern, the human realm in the center. Each of the other realms can only access the two neighboring realms and the human realm in the center.
    • The human realm has access to the long road, the path that allows access to all the realms.
    • The doors of the long road only allow access from earth, though once in it you can get into any realm, you just cannot re-enter the long road, except from the human realm.
    • No one knows who created the realms, or the long road. Some myths claim that the human realm was the first and the gods created the other 13 to house their individual creations.
    • Legends also state that there are ‘outer’ realm(s) beyond the 14, but number is unclear, as is how you access them. The only thing the legends agree on is that it is bad news if the ‘outer’ realm(s) starts to act in the inner 14.
    • Some legends state outer realm(s) are where gods reside now. Others state the inhabitants of outer realms killed the gods.

What most of the realms do not know is that there are at least two outer realms, and two of the inner realms are populated(now) by creations of one of these outer realms.

The Realm of Ash: Inhabitants need offerings to create bodies on earth and cross over. In our realm their initial bodies look like large flayed dogs, wolves, great cats. Bodies formed of ash as coming over reduces bodies of sacrifices to char. Absorb negative emotions like fear, sadness, terror. Will hunt and torment their prey(which is why they take on the forms of large dogs/wolves/great cats) . Have established several cults that offer them sacrifices. As bodies formed of ash, weak to water. Attracted to magical power(in this setting, all living creatures have magic, but for most animals is such a small amount that is worthless, intelligent creatures have higher amounts), which when they consume can allow them to take more permanent bodies without weakness to water. Once have permanent bodies, can absorb other lifeforms and reshape the bodies to their will. At higher level can take on fully human appearance, but require blood from living source to sustain it(taking blood also allows absorption of the magic).

Realm of Abomination: parasitic burrowing worms, live underground, Look like 3 ft long worm pasty white earthworm with tentacles at one end. Tentacles secrete acid to dissolve rock. Surround round leech like mouth filled with diamond hard teeth used for burrowing. Blind and deaf as no use for these underground. Covered in thousands of white hairs that can extend. Use these to sense air movement, vibrations. These will pierce through the host to allow it to control them. Will burrow into hosts, hijack control of nervous system. Blind by themselves, can sense heat of living animals. Sensitive to cold, but less sensitive when have a host as host body helps warm them. Cannot swim. No spoken language, communicate using psychic ability. At war with two of the other realms as those denizens live underground, making them ideal hosts for the worms.

Have you ever wondered about the night Rudolf Diesel dissapeared from earth? Could it be related to Agatha Christie's fugue? Would a victorian gentleman fart out of fear on his first drive, inside a red Ferrari from the 1980s?
On a story I begun last December, the truth is finally revealed.
