Hello, I'm writing a short story. In it, a boy wants to tell a girl how hot he thinks she is. So, I thought about saying stuff like this: Code: You are so hot that you can use the heat emanating from your body to cook food. Since I'm not a native speaker, I don't know how lame that is. So, what do you think? Do you have other suggestions? You are so hot that...
...your body will melt any chocolate it touches. ...your hair should be on fire. ...smoke should shoot out of your ears. ...the sun would make room for you in the heavens. ...Venus would be jealous. ...one can fry an egg on your forehead. ...the stars would melt. ...the world risks burning up. Okay, I will stop.
Well... to me it gives me cannibal vibes. Like he thinks of food when he thinks of her? Also, don't take some of my own examples too seriously.
This is a legitimate question here, but I'm assuming you're looking for ways to say a girl is attractive and not hot in temperature, correct? If that's the case, I'd recommend not using food based description. If any of Madman's suggestions work for you, I'd say the Venus one would be the best. I think maybe saying it less like the girl's an object would be better, too, unless the guy saying this is someone who thinks poorly of women. Maybe she's beautiful instead of hot? I dunno. I hope this helps?
Actually, in my story the girl says she needs a stove. He then tells her that she doesn't need a stove as she is so hot. Obviously, it's a joke but my question is, is it a lame joke on the part of the boy?
That depends on her mostly. If she's young and likes to be seen that way, then it's fine, some girls would get offended. Or if it's an old couple and he's trying to make her smile, they might joke around like that. It depends largely on how much she likes him. You know how it is, some guys can get away with saying stuff like that and some can't.
I'm sorry to say that if someone actually said this, it would freak the listener out quite a bit. Imagine someone actually cooking food on your body heat? Does it make you feel good to picture someone doing that? It's a shame you've also used the phrase 'you can use the heat emanating from your body to cook food.' It sounds as if the speaker thinks this is literal statement of fact, which gives it a disturbing quality. At the very least cut it down to 'your body heat can cook food.' The fact you are using a different meaning of 'hot' to the intended one is an odd choice. What's the purpose of that? Is it supposed to be a joke? if it is, you need less of a weird exaggeration. How would you expect a woman to react to this? Can you picture her saying 'thank you.' Is this supposed to be a character skilled in the art of seduction? I could imagine this dialogue being used to show a painfully awkward 'nerd' character failing horribly around women, so if you're going for that, it's great.
You're so hot that that you will never be allowed to travel on an airplane again as a result of your high body temperature....so, wanna go out next week?
Yes. I am a woman. My assumption of you is you might not have flirted or dated much, and my first reaction was: Having said this, if I had a crush on the guy, I'd probably laugh and find it adorable he failed so badly. But if the feeling is not mutual, you're definitely getting the "say what" reaction lol.
"You're so hot that I forgot my pick up line." I wouldn't compare her to cooking. You want a positive image. Compare her to summer or the sun or things melting. Maybe a sauna? Things like that. You use those for the anchor of the image.
Shall I compare thee to a super-heated, super-boiling red hot chilli sauce? Thou art hotter, more bubbly, and more temperatured.
way back Friday, ahhh the 90s...I am sorry but I find it hard to believe someone in year 2020 still thinks he will get a woman talking like that to her, except if it is a joke.
How about 'You're so hot you don't need a stove." This would be a simple, straightforward jokey/serious compliment if she has just said that she wants a stoveāand if she also knows the other meaning of 'hot'. If she likes him and fancies him, this will probably be a blush-inducing compliment. If she doesn't like him, this will be a very unwelcome remark. If she doesn't know the sexual meaning of 'hot,' however, he's just going to sound completely stupid.
You're so hot babe, when I'm near you I wanna turn on an air conditioner and adjust it to the highest settings
