    Singular or plural verb?

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by jakeybum, Aug 16, 2015.

Would you go with the singular or plural verb in each example below? I say use the singular in each.

Five inches of snow have/has fallen.

    Five inches have/has fallen.

Five inches of snow is/are expected.

One to two inches of snow has/have fallen.

One to two inches is/are expected.
