The general rule is that with proper formatting a page = a minute with a screenplay, yet I read today that a typical 30 minute sitcom has a length of more like 45 pages. Why is this?
Apparently I'm wrong, don't bother reading this. maybe so some stuff can be cut out, and to make sure they fill the airtime ? I'm just guessing here, i don even know if page = a minute, I'm relying on you.
sorry, that's not a good guess, louis... it's due to the differences in format and having more 'acts' due to the need for commercial breaks... and yes, for a film script, 1 page = 1 minute of running time...
