Okie dokie people, I'm going to ask you on this. Cause I have no clue what to think. All right so lets go to day Thursday in the middle of the day out of nowhere I got a sore throat and this is just in the middle of the day not in the morning, Friday I have a sore throat though I have no coughing, no runny nose, no fever, no headache, I can taste food normally like you would if you aren't sick, Saturday[today] I wake up sore throat gone, throat has some phlegm in it. When I go to the restroom[mind you I still have no runny nose or cough] I spit out this giant glob of phlegm and it's green, but oddly enough it has some red in it as well. And this is like bright red as if something was bleeding. Now it's evening my throat feels a bit dry, scratchy, and prickly like if you had been coughing for a long long time. So um my question is, what the hell is going on? Could this be like a sinus infection? Or is it something else? Anyone else experience this before?
I don't know, but you might try googling your symptoms and see what turns up. Like I would put in the words: red phlegm green "sore throat"
Googling is no help. Everyone talks about fever, headache, cough, etc. And every time I put no to those I can't find anything.
Go to the doctor. Also, see if you can get a prescription that'll stop you thinking that asking the Internet health questions is a good idea.
Oh, why oh why did you have to say it was Green!! *squirms* Yeah, go to the doctors before it gets worse i'd say, though it's probably nothing to worry about.
If you're worried enough to ask a bunch of faceless strangers, very few of whom are health care professionals, don't you think it is smarter to ask a real doctor who can examine you and ask whatever addditional questions that may be necessary. As for googling your symptoms, that is as bad as an untrained person flipping through a medical text to self-diagnose. It's one thing to use the Internet to find out more about a condition you know you have. It's quite another to think that googling can replace years of medical training and experience to diagnose an ailment, especially without access to means of differential testing.
There have been a bunch of threads like this before, and they all boil down to: it's probably nothing to worry about, but if ou really need to be sure, so to a doctor.
as a 70-year-old mom of 7, grandmom of 17 who's seen all sorts of sick-stuff, i have to say that is a silly and potentially harmful comment to make in any context!... the only response any of us should be making to that op is what most of you here have: SEE A DOCTOR ASAP! and don't ever again ask what worrisome physical symptoms mean, on a writing site!!!
My brother had this huge sore in the back of his throat....you could see it if you looked into his mouth. He reported the same symptoms as you had...so he went to the doctor who prescribed some gel sort of thing. So yeah, definitely see your doctor. And LOL at Mammamias comment. Trust her sagely advice...writers are the last people you should go to for health advice.
But I'm slowly getting better. Suddenly. lol! My throat feels better today and yeah. I don't feel as sick. Strange I am.
Sadly I do that. if i have any bad symptoms, i google them, and I usually decide that i'm terminally ill half an hour later. Or that i've magically gotten pregnant. OR that i've magically gotten pregnant with an alien baby that's twisitng my insides up and will burst out of my brain. Yeah, you should'nt google symptoms really.
Oh that Matt is an alien that has impregnated Ash is a brain-exploding bady? Yeah, you should probably hold that in.
Well... I think that our bodies to tend to go through some phases in life. One week you'll feel tired One week you'll feel sick One week you'll feel fine/ok One week you'll feel random ect... Perhaps its just a phase?...
I don't know I guess it's a really out of order cold. Cause my Sore throat disappeared on Saturday, Sunday I was fine, today I have a stuffy and runny nose. And my eyes feel a bit watery.
let me say it again: take your hypochondria, or actual could-be-serious-illness to a doctor who can tell the difference and STOP posting your symptoms on a writing site!!! and if all you're really after is 'attention' you're wasting your time, our time, and site space...
