Ok I joined up on another forum recently thinking yeah why not get a variety of feedback on my work. Well I never had time to post anything and next thing I know I am receiving 20 emails a day from them. It is ridiculous if you ask me. I mean if they want people to stay there then emailing them non stop is not the way to go about it if you ask me. Has anyone else had this problem with a forum before? ~Torana
Saying that there are pm's there for me and that I have'nt posted there in a while and even personal emails to other people are being sent to me!!! Not what I call very professional!
I would first check the account settings for your username, to see if there is some insidious "notify me" boxes checked by default. Then I would complain to the site owner. It's more than just unprofessional, it is downright obnoxious. It's possible the misrouted personal emails are due to a BCC all somewhere in the email chain, although that should be prevented as well.
I have contacted the admin and no repsonse and I can not even get into my own profile page area to do anything there. IT is a nightmare.
i had something like that with one other site, not a writing site thank-fully, but a film site that a mate sent me a link to so i joined, had a looka round then decided i wasn't really interested. i have never posted there and i still recieve a few Emails a week from them!! lol
Yeah well I have now received since I joined there a day ago now 62 emails in total. I have tried to block them but it does not work. What a bloody nightmare. I am just glad that I used my yahoo account there and not my msn one or I would have serious problems right now.....sometimes it pays to have a second account!!!
Try looking up the site on http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp You can find the public information about the site, including the required administrative contact information.
