Spam PM from a banned user?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by northernadams, Apr 10, 2013.

I just got a private message directing me to a commercial website, and it was sent by a banned user with supposedly no posts. How does that happen? Wouldn't this site have to be accepting his login for him to even be able to send a PM here?

Another user reported a similar PM from that account and we have acted on it accordingly.

Was it to some self-publishing website that's half-italian, half-english? If so, got a message from him/her too.

Generally, that means the member sent the PM, then was caught and banned before you saw the PM.

Yeah, is funny. Get all puffed up with pride for about 3 minutes. 'Ew, personal invitation to ComeWritings. I see...they want ME as kind of in-house author guru. What excellent news.'
