So: Steering Comitee or Management Board - which sounds better for the executive body of a "Youth Development Initiative" association?
first of all in what country is this taking place? [and 'committee' has 2 'm's & 2 't's] and how 'official' is this group? i suggest you look up the definition of 'steering committee' to see if it fits what you have in mind... do the same for 'management board'... then google for groups similar to yours, go to their websites and see how they're governed...
not a board of directors? i have never heard of a steering committee and cant remember the last time i heard the board called the board of management.
'steering committees' are common enough, but they are not the chief 'executive body' of an organization... they only advise the legislative/governing board/body...
@mammamaia hm, if an Assembly is the legislative body, could a Steering Comitee answer directly to the Assembly, or the executive body comes between?
If I Google "nonprofit organization" "board of directors" I get a whole lot of hits that lead me to believe that a board of directors is quite normal for a noprofit. What source told you that you can't use that title?
@ChickenFreak yeah, I wrote a half-finished sentence and forgot about it it's NGO actually (and not non-profit), and NGOs do have "Boards of Directors" , but this particular youth association doesn't have a "director" position, so Management Board was the next best choice... Thanks anyway!!!
