Well, as anybody who actually cares about me (I don't know if that's any of you ) knows, I've been gone for a week enjoying my time camping at Catalina Island. So, I was out water-skiing near Two Harbors and enjoying it (no, I didn't hurt myself skiing, just hang on ). So we're coming back in the ski boat, and we see a monster swell rising from the wake of a big ship. Us being young and dumb guys all started rooting the driver to hit the wake fast. I braced myself on a bar on the bow and waited for it. We hit it going decently fast and the boat must have flown up 6 feet or so. When we smacked back down on the water my chin smashed in to the bar I was bracing on, splitting the skin a good inch-and-a-half horizontally. Feeling dizzy, I looked down and saw blood and thought, "Oh crap." I put the towel to my chin and we rushed back to camp. I sat in the medical lodge, waiting an extra 20 minutes for the medic to come back from a hike, and then was numbed and sewed up. I currently have 8 nice stitches hanging from my chin. It's not too bad, and I'd like to point out I didn't even shed a tear. Not one, in fact I was laughing. haha
Lmao ... Well I'm glad you seemed to enjoy getting injured rather than crying. Sounds like fun aswell before the accident.
I winced when I heard that, it must've hurt like hell. At least your writer's repertoire of experiences is a tad larger as a result. Take care, man, hope it heals up well.
Yeah, stitches do suck. I've only had to get them once though, got a nasty cut on the top of my head.
Thanks everybody! They don't hurt too bad, and since I can't shave around them, I now have a good excuse to grow a beard!
Glad you are alright. I agree with the others, that had to hurt. Glad you could find the amusing side through it all.
