    Stuck on Writing About Animals

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by Kanri, Jan 14, 2013.

I can't seem to write about anything other than animals. When I write about humans, it all seems too forced and it turns out like blah. When I write about myself, I just don't feel comfortable for some reason. I run out of animal topics easily. Is this normal? Do you have any ideas on how to fix this?

It depends on what you mean by 'writing about animals.' Are your animals anthropomorphic characters? Or are you writing stories involving animals? Or essays or other non-fiction pieces about animals? Are you writing for adults or children? What kind of topics related to animals are you writing about, that you run out of them?

It might be okay to always write about animals. Everyone has a niche. It seems that the greater problem is that you're running out of 'topics' about them.
