So I'm working on a superhero slice-of-life story and one of the parts of it deals with teen pregnancy and the stress of that, school and crimefighting all in one. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips at all and if they think they would read it (it doesn't have the pregnancy cause just the effect). I've never written teen pregnancy before, though I have written superhero slice-of-life, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks. The mom is about sixteen and the dad is about seventeen. Also, feel free to post situations that your children, nieces, nephews, etc. have gotten into and just general stuff that happens when raising a child, it would help a lot, or even just post random situations that you think a flying (actually, floating, for now) baby could get into. Hmmm. This isn't something I would do lightly. Teen pregnancy is not something that often goes all that well, and could make things much more serious and intense. So I would be careful.
Okay, I will be, it just happens to be a major part of what brings the main MCs even closer. Plus I already have some scenes. I'm actually debating whether or not to just skip to the end of the pregnancy but I'm not sure.
I would do at least the last week or so of the pregnancy, not just right before the birth. Feels like you something people will want to see as part of the character's journey.
Okay, so a few weeks at the start, the scene where the parents are told and then the last few weeks. Right? That sounds good I think.
