We have threads about everrything else, so why not superheroes? (oh and if there is already a thread about superheroes, I'm very sorry, I wasn't trying to steal your thread.) In my opinion, out of all the superheroes out there, Batman is easily the coolest He's is awesome! What do you guys think?
My favorite is Iron Man as well. I could give you detailed reasons, but just look at Batman Subzero, Batman Returns, Begins, Gotham Knight, and Dark Knight for references.
my favorite superhero is Chuck Norris lol but seriously, my favorite is Batman since it's a tiny bit more realistic then everything else. Ironman has these super powerful futuristic weapons and Batman built himself from scratch. \
Spiderman. I have so many memories of growing up watching Spiderman cartoons. Batman's cool also. And Iron Man.
From my comic book/childhood television days from long ago: Spiderman would have to be first, with Thor second. Terry
I'm not much of a comics fan, but I got into the tv show Smallville a while back, which has to do with a young Superman. And I really learned to appreciate the complexity of that universe. So mine would have to be Superman.
I am in love with both the Batman and Superman mythologies, but I prefer the Marvel universe to the DC universe in general. But my favorite hero is, and always has been, Batman. Yeah, he is tough as nails for a mortal but it is his mind that makes him truly formidable. I believe Batman could defeat any of the other super heroes, to include Superman. That is if he had some time to plan.
My favorite superhero would have to be 'Storm' from X-Men! I really like her superpower(s),suite and her white eyes.
I've never read any comics, but from what I know from most of my friends (who spend much of their time creating their own comics), my favourite would be Iron Man. He's a superhero because he's intelligent, and I value intelligence more than almost anything else. If I could have any superpower, it would be superior intelligence and / or telepathy.
My favorite would also have to be Batman. The man is so damn smart and seems to know everyone's strengths and weakness, plus how to exploit them. In the DC universe, he even has plans on how to bring down the good guys should they go berserk. Spiderman would be a close second though. To me, he seems to be the most human out of all the heroes in the way he acts. Also I love that even in the cartoons they show that he has to sacrifice a lot to be a super hero, such as relationships with people. And I have to give an honorable mention to Rorschach from Watchmen. The dude was completely fearless and awesome. How do you not like the guy who after being put in prison and ganged up on by the prisoners, told them "I'm not stuck in here with you, you're stuck in here with me."
The Maxx. Hands (or those seriously dangerous claws) down. Any superhero that can narrate an entire issue/episode of his adventures Dr Seuss-style gets instant win with me.
I like super hero movies, i liked the TV shows when i was a kid, but there's something about the comic books that just puts me off. There are however exceptions: metropolitan, preacher, the punisher (max, as written by Garth Ennis) are all comics i've loved but none of them can really be called super heroes. So barring Jessie, spider and frank i guess my favorite super hero will have to be deadpool since he just plain rocks.
The Maxx was a very thing MTV aired. I got it on VHS some time back but it hasn't appeared on DVD, although Youtube does have it I think. Those who have not seen The Maxx, should investigate. Terry
Without doubt the almost Christ-like Superman, apotheosis of good-hearted manhood while remaining necessarily superhuman.
In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight Those who worship evil's might, beware my power - Green Lantern's light. - Green Lantern's oath. I liked Kyle Raynor best, even thoug I grew up in Hal Jordan's heyday. But I still like the Flash more.
Well, you see, that's exactly why I don't like him. He can never be in the wrong. He is way too powerful (like Flash) and not enough human. I just can't relate to the guy.
The MTV series was a great (and very faithful) adaptation of the first dozen Maxx comics - which are equally brilliant (the comic had a total run of 36 issues). Sam Keith's artwork is first class and Bill Messner-Loebs' dialoge is - in my humble opinion - extraordinarily good. I had the series on VHS too, but wore it out... There's an on-line petition ( http://www.petitiononline.com/TheMaxx/petition.html) to bring The Maxx to DVD, but it's been around a fair while and I doubt it's getting the attention of those that can actually make it happen. That's why The Maxx is awesome. He's big. And purple. And he's human. He might be a collossal superhero, fighting for his Jungle Queen in a land known as Pangaea; but it's far more likely that he's a delusional, drunk, homeless guy who's in a co-dependent relationship with his dysfunctional social worker.
Ha my borther loves deadpool....but no ones ever heard of him, including me (that is until my brother started going on and on about him ) oh and Z, green lantern is pretty cool I must agree but batman is better
Wait Flash is overpowered? He only has one power and I also would like to give a shoutout to Storm as well. We need more African super heroes.
I remember there was an animated show called Static Shock, he's an African superhero with a american nerd as a sidekick, and i think Static Shock is really great, he's definetely up there. But my favorite not-so-superhero hero has to be Hellboy
