I'm happy for the journal to be viewable to anyone here. I feel comfortable to be my moody writery self on WF, and I've found I enjoy having a journal that I can just clear off when my mind has moved on. The journal is as much a writing prompt as it is a reminder. It may not seem the case, but I don't actually enjoy littering the net with my thoughts. Cringe factor on reread is high! But unlike your screen shot, I don't get the option to make my journal to be closed for comments. I've read that original journal creation thread and I thought we could uncheck "Open". I've been puzzling about this for a while, but was my usual: too lazy to ask so it must not be that important to me.

The option I get on edit thread:

The option I get when I start new journal:

I'm sorry wreybies, but I have to disagree about the effectiveness of the ignore option. Those not-so-invisible comments feels like reverse psychology! It would be nice if they would just disappear altogether - so outta sight, outta mind. I really don't think you're missing much...

Anyway, I'm creating a diversion from the original intent of this thread. Nothing I mentioned here is worth pursuing, I'm content. Thanks again.

That's interesting... I always thought that the options Wrey has would be available to everyone (since it would make sense to let users decide who can see their journals, and who can reply to them). I, as a moderator, have the same options Wrey does, although one of my dummy accounts is as limited as you.

Yeah, the ignore function is one area in which vBulletin is superior to Xenforo. But as you say, we can't have it all!

    I agree with @VynniL wholeheartedly
    ...

Particularly, maybe we could tone down the language? A lot of British terms in particular--not sure if there's just not enough sun there....

Message received hence forth I will no longer use the term wank puffin or ass hat to describe trolls

Even though they are repulsive waste of oxygen whelk molesters ;)

I think you did, actually, but maybe it was Bayview. Either way, I can't be guillemot - I'm afraid of heights :D Unless you're talking about something other than the bird and then I have no idea.:p

ETA: It wasn't you - it was Bayview. Apologies :D And also - she was joking, and I knew that.

I guess guillemots and wank puffins are as good a note as any to end this thread on...? :)
