Pip -Guardian Angel or Angel of Death? "Kill the queen; kill her before she casts the spell!" "Light Shield!" Piper yelled, and a blast of light engulfed Magnolia, blinding the uncastables who were foolish enough to look at her. Though her Repel hadn't worked, she was intent on doing some major damage. And damage she would do. Keeping Light Shield up -Magnolia would be protected and healed so long as she stayed within it and she could still cast as well- Piper launched herself at any enemy she could see; lost in a blood rage. Her scythe sliced and diced the floor, cutting into flesh and bone and sending blood spattering all over the remains of the walls. Death screams filled her ears, and her black wings battered back her opponents so that she could take them on at the most in groups of three. But besides the dying screams of her opponents, the wind began to wail. She switched tactics and wielded her scythe one-handed, taking her wand from its sheath, sparks flying and her eyes showing deadly intent. "Back off from Magnolia or this whole place becomes an uncastables' hell!" she bellowed at the top of her lungs. Fifty years of use, and the wand would prove to be one of the deadliest weapons known.
Sol and the others made it through burning city streets trying to keep hidden using the chaos as cover to sneak through. Eventually they reached the city gates which had been blasted down by very large versions of the boom sticks. soldiers were crawling everywhere, it seemed impossible to sneak past and get outside the city. "Anybody know a cloaking spell?" Knob asked. They all shook there heads, "Wow...what kind of fail mages are you guys? Well, Sol's excused because he's awesome, but the rest of you? Shame." "As true as you words maybe, I don't think nows the time to bask in my splended glory. Hmm....I may know a way out of the kingdom." Sol snuck past the guards and headed down a small alleyway, at the end of the alley way was a large hole covered with an iron lid. "Fare is full of hidden escape routes, well, if you don't mind sewage water." Sol lifted the lid and made a face at the smell, even so he motioned them to follow, and hopped in. .................... The battle was swinging in the mages favor mostly due to Magnolia's powerful spells. Commet storms and pyroclasms smaller versions of the spell that wiped out the air ships laid waste to the enemy forces. But with every spell she weaved the weary queen grew closer and closer to her own self destruction. The uncastables knew this, once her body could no longer take it they would win by sheer numbers. *BOOM!* Another pyroclasm lay waste to 12 uncastables archers, an mage was cut down in the middle of weaving. This battle was reaching a breaking point. The two figures watching the chaos at a distance nodded to each other, it was time. Another giant weave appeared in the sky, but not one made by Magnolia, courseing with Nox eather it had the opposite effect of Magnolia's pyrocatclysm, it turned the air cold and cast a shadow over the battle field. "I don't recognize that weave, but...I'm certain it's from the enemy." Tassy said as she dispatched an over eager soldier "But uncastables can't cast spells, so...what is it?" a mage mused, worry coming over his face. The site of the weave put Magnlia's forces on edge, did they have mages on their side as well. Had uncastables found an alternative way of manipulating eather?
Pickles gulped. He wasn't normally scared............in fights at least. But things were becoming quite dire. "Oh dear. Does anyone have any ideas?" Pickles asked nervously. As he put his shield up over Tassy. When that spell was cast something told him the outcome wouldn't be pretty. __________________________ "Wait Carson isn't with us!" Marine shouted. She wasn't leaving without her brother. Which is why it was good news he once again showed up out of the blue. Pickles son approached everyone as they were going down the hole. But oddly enough Carson had various Fare citizens behind him. About 15 to 20 in total. Marine's mouth fell open and she rushed over to her brother and hugged him. "W..were did you go? I..I thought you had died or worse!" Carson snapped his finger and smiled brightly. "Die? Of course not! That's impossible. I just decided to bring these fine people I saw in trouble with us." Carson began to motion for the people he had saved and Marine to go down the hole. And after everyone was safe and sound in the sewers he followed suit. It was important to Carson that he saved people. It wouldn't be right to watch people die before your eyes while your safely making an escape. So he saved he could.
Will Will saw Magnolia's fiercer and fiercer spells. She couldn't hold out casting like that, especially not with a wound like she'd taken. He cast Healing Wind on her, hopefully that would help. Then, returning his attention the uncastables, he started Black Quasar again. A moment later it sprung into existence above him, sending devastating waves of Nox crashing into the oncoming uncastables. If he could just keep up the pace, along with Magnolia, they might get through this. -------------- "Fare is full of hidden escape routes, well, if you don't mind sewage water." "Lovely!" Keiran snapped. He'd pushed aside thoughts of his parents for a moment, and focused on keeping himself and Rayla safe. There was nothing he could do for his parents right then, except keep himself, and especially Rayla safe.
Rayla "Fare is full of hidden escape routes, well, if you don't mind sewage water." "Lovely!" Keiran commented coldly. "Oh, goddess that's gross." Rayla held a sleeve over her nose. She cast light shield over herself hoping to keep the noxious fumes and other unpleasant stuff away from her. Then, with much reluctance she followed Sol down the hole. "Didn't think a prince like you would dare come down into a place like this." She said as she landed at the bottom of the stairs. The sheild seemed to be doing a good job of keeping the waste from touching her but the fumes were enough to make her eyes water. She gagged and almost threw up. But her pride kept her from letting her nausesa get the better of her. She was going to show these boys she was just as tough as they were.
"We should try and cheer up." Carson said from behind the crowd of people he saved. He hardly seemed bothered by the sewer. But still Carson didn't like it when people were sad. Call it a family habit trying to get people a little more relaxed. Marine followed close behind Lyra. She didn't want to cheer up. She just wanted her mom to hug her. Better yet she wanted to go home with her family. "How can any of us be smiling at a time like this?" She muttered. Carson chuckled warmly. "Come Marine and everyone else. Think positive thoughts. As my dad said think of puppies."
Lyra When Lyra looked into the sewer hole she almost gagged. "That is so disgusting!" Her mom would freak if she knew she would be stepping into decayed matter. The thought of her mom sent shudders up her spine. Maybe if she hadn't been playing tag and been with her mom none of this would've happened. Maybe then her mom would still be scolding her and giving her lectures on how to behave. Guilt threatened to pull her down, but she pushed it away. There was no reason to fret about it now when it had already happened. Her mom would want her to be obedient, to follow the others. As she went down, she heard Marine and her brother speaking. She wondered for a second what it would be like to have a brother too. She had Piper as a sister...but she never really did fun things with her. She never laughed with her, hugged her, or played with her. Piper always kept to herself and now was miles away with her father. Lyra quickly shook away the negative thoughts. Instead, she looked to Marine. "I guess our princess adventure has begun, huh?" Lyra giggled, trying to liven up the situation. "We're running from the crowds of people who love us and want our autograph. We're fleeing the city as damsels in distress! Not exactly the best place to flee, though." As she stepped further into the sewage, the intense fumes hit her hard. Lyra started coughing and some Charon accidentally flew out of her mouth, illuminating the waste around her. "Double ew. Hate when that happens..." Lyra moaned.
Kerian "Come Marine and everyone else. Think positive thoughts. As my dad said think of puppies." "Would you shut the hell up! I don't want to think positive thoughts right now, I just want to survive!" Keiran snapped at Carson. The combination of brutality and positivity made Carson come across as a total sociopath, and Kerian's first instinct was to get him and his sister as far away from his as possible. But that didn't seem like it was likely to be happening anytime soon. In the mean time he intended to make it clear that he wanted nothing to do with him and that he would be more comfortable if they had never met. He wrapped all this up into as cold and proud a facade as he could.
"Now now Mister Kerian no reason to shout. Technically thinking of survival is thinking of positive thoughts isn't it?" Carson asked smiling. Most would have noticed Carson was never really never really bothered by anything or caught off guard. It was simply his way. Why worry when you can act? "You don't have to like me. But I think it's important we think good thoughts. Why worry when we can beam? Even in situations like this a good attitude will prepare for anything to come." He said with honesty Marine forced a smile at Lyra. "Well Miss Lyra you do forget we can be sewer princesses?" Marine said with chuckle was she wiped away tears from earlier. She also wanted to brighten the mood. Carson clapped his hands together and came up between Marine and Lyra. "That's the spirit girls!" He exclaimed cheerfully. "See Mister Kerian?" He asked
Rayla "That's the spirit girls!" He exclaimed cheerfully. "See Mister Kerian?" He asked. Rayla gave her brother a look that said, 'is this guy for real?' She shook her head at Carson's unwanted enthusasim and replied, "Lets just get out of this stinkhole...get dad and find mom. If anyone can find her. He can."
Keiran "That's the spirit girls!" He exclaimed cheerfully. "See Mister Kerian?" "You're an idiot," Keiran said. "Lets just get out of this stinkhole...get dad and find mom. If anyone can find her. He can." Rayla said. "If he's..." Keiran stopped himself from even finishing the thought. "We'll find him, then we'll all find mom..." he said, trying to be strong for Rayla, and himself.
"Finding your moms won't be much of a problem with everything we have got to work with." Carson said casually to the kids who's parents had been kidnapped. "With the resources Magnolia has, the connections I have...from my work and lets not forget all the friends old and new our parents have made in Exzalia in general. Miss River and Miss Emery are hardly a thing to be concerned about. Lyra shall get her mother back." Carson then turned to Rayla and Keiran. "And you two will get your mother and her baby back." The odd man looked thoughtful for a moment and then started beaming. "I'm sure you two will make fine older siblings." He said passionately. Marine frowned. She wondered why Carson just ignored being called an idiot. Marine didn't approve of what Carson did but he was still her brother. It didn't exactly feel good when a family member was insulted. "He's only being positive." In truth Marine often found herself questing her family as a whole. Her mother was a siren, her dad was far to cheery and her brother........well he was something else all together. She loved them all but....they were so... "Not really positive my dear sister." Carson replied. "I can't ever fail in the end. When I set my mind to something I'll come out on top eventually so don't worry your parents are safe!" He exclaimed. "After all I'm the main character of the tale in general so as I said I don't fail." He said spreading his arms.
Keiran "I can't ever fail in the end. When I set my mind to something I'll come out on top eventually so don't worry your parents are safe!" He exclaimed. "After all I'm the main character of the tale in general so as I said I don't fail." This guy was really starting to get on Keiran's nerves. "Just because you haven't failed yet, doesn't mean you won't," Keiran said, as he waded through the sewer. "All I want from you is for you too be quiet. It's bad enough that we're stuck in a sewer while the world above us goes to hell... We don't need an egomaniacal... whatever you are, spouting an unending stream of nonsense!" Keiran wasn't good at dealing with irritation and stress at the same time, bad things were liable to happen.
Lyra Lyra gave a soft smile towards Marine, but at the tone of Keiran and Rayla's voices, that nagging unnerving feeling returned. "Being positive is good, but what if...what if they are not okay?" Lyra asked. "What if something really bad is happening to my mom?" At the thought, she quickened her steps through the sewer. "Stop arguing, we need to get out of here!"
"It's not an ego. I'm simply the main character of the world's story its as simple as that." Carson grinned it wasn't an arrogant grin but a friendly one. "And the reason is simple for why I won't fail. I can't die!" He exclaimed cheerfully as if it was common knowledge. Marine grabbed Lyra's hand and smiled brightly. "Its okay. I'm sure their fine in fact I'm sure they are.......and if they aren't then I'll be with you until you can smile again." Marine said winking at her new friend. Marine sighed and swallowed her nervousness. She really wanted out of this sewer and get to her mom and dad. They'd probably know what to do. Wouldn't they? Carson continued. "If I die the world stops. Because if the world doesn't have a main character then It'll have no reason to keep going on." Carson yawned and kept walking. "Mister Keiran a bit of friendly advice. Being a brooding dark hero is never good for morale. It's much better to stop worrying and simply believe in the best." He said with in a very sweet tone. "And if the best doesn't happen then believe even harder until it does." Carson paused. "As for what I am? I'm just me."
Archibald's body jerked up as the woman's foot connected hard with his abdomen, but he instantly recovered. There was no time for leisure while on duty. He cut at his adversary's legs, but twisted his sword upward halfway through the cut. A normal reaction from a typical fighter would be to jump above the cut, meaning the upward slice would catch them unaware and leave them without a leg.
Will Once his Quasar sputtered out, he saw Archibald, the other Lorian, fighting for his life, and Will quickly wove a Light Spear, and hurled it at his attacked, then wove Wind Soul on Archibald, granting him a considerable boost to speed. It might give him the upper hand. Then Will began weaving something else, something big.
Rayla and Kieran Will's sword bounced on Rayla's back. She'd almost forgotten it was there. She'd been meaning to show it too Kieran, and now was probably as good as time as any. At the least it would help get their minds off mom and their unborn sibling. "After all I'm the main character of the tale in general so as I said I don't fail." "All I want from you is for you too be quiet. It's bad enough that we're stuck in a sewer while the world above us goes to hell... We don't need an egomaniacal... whatever you are, spouting an unending stream of nonsense!" Not to mention talking might help calm her brother down. He tended to freak out when to many things were happening at once. Especially bad things. Rayla fell into step with Kieran. His legs were much longer so she had to walk quickly to keep up with his pace. She took Will's sword out of it's sheath. One side glowing with Althea the other with Nox. The craftsmanship was amazing. "Before he left, dad gave me his sword for safekeeping." She said, showing it to her brother. "He said this side is enchanted with Nox and this side with Althea." "I've seen it before," Keiran responded. He was too lost in his own thoughts to be bothered looking at his father's sword. Rayla bit her lip at his curt reply. So much for that. She put the sword back and shoved her hands into her pockets. After thinking for a bit she asked, "You ever hear the story about the bird and the grumpy dragon?" "No," Keiran replied. He had, but he couldn't remember it, and didn't feel like talking about it. I'm just me." Carson continued. "Shut up!" Keiran shouted at him. Rayla nearly jumped out of her skin. Carson was definetly screwed up in the head, but Keiran's response wern't making things better. "Keiran," She grabbed her brother's arm, afraid he might do something drastic if Carson kept pushing him. She spoke quietly so only he would hear. "He's just an idiot who wants attention. If you ignore him...you won't give him what he most desires. A reaction." Rayla smiled at herself. She rarely spoke like she actually knew what she was talking about. Rayla was right, of course. But Keiran wasn't thinking rationally. But what she said did make him think. "You're right," he admitted. "I'm sorry, I'm not making things any better," he glared at Carson for a moment. "But don't you dare try and make me apologize to him." She looked at him seriously, "I wouldn't dream of it." Rayla smiled, glad to see a little bit of her brother's former self, but the image of her mother being attacked and then warped away made her solemn again. Please be alright, mom. Keiran saw the worry pass over Rayla's face. "Everything'll be alright. We just gotta take it a step at a time," he said, doing his best to be reassuring. "First, we get out of the sewers and away from the stench," he smiled. "Then we find dad."
Carson was about to speak up again. But Marine grabbed on to the sleeve of his jacket. "Brother." She said nodding towards Rayla and Kieran. Carson looked at the emotions in Marine's eyes. Like his father Carson was good at picking up on that thing when he looked close enough. Carson had trouble relating to......normal people at times. So he tended to get carried away with his own thoughts.....not matter how warped they maybe. But luckily his family members no matter if it be Marine, Pickles or Tassy always let him know when he started to get on peoples nerves. Carson sighed. "I apologize. I can be insensitive at times when it comes to others feelings." He said apologetically to Rayla and Keiran. Marine began to fiddle with her hair nervously. She wanted to speak up but she was a little scared of how the others react. "I don't mean to be rude. But maybe we all just got off on the wrong foot." She suggested. "I think we all like each other in someways." She said staring at her feet. _______________ Pickles blocked any incoming arrows at Tassy or Magnolia. He was at a lost for words at this point. "Oh dear. So what's the plan!?" He asked again as he stared at the massive weave in the sky. Pickles didn't want to anyone to die of course but most of all he just wanted to keep his friends and family safer before all else.
Lyra "I don't mean to be rude. But maybe we all just got off on the wrong foot." Marine suggested. "I think we all like each other in someways." "Well, I like everybody!" Lyra said. "But we are all high strung because the situation really isn't so great right now. We need to remember what's important." Lyra nodded. She was right of course. "We should find my dad too, he knows a lot of things about tracking animals, I'm sure he can find people."
The weave activated, nox eather flooded the battle field, it washed over the combatants like water. But it did no damage. The uncastbles for a moment stopped assaulting and simply watched. "Tassy...what spell was just cast." Tassy swallowed nervously. "Null zone. It a spell that dispersed any magic in a given area. Basically, we can no longer cast spells." "Then we have lost. They out number us, and uncastables are better at sword play." Magnolia was on the brink of collapse, as she gazed upon the desperate eyes of her men she made a bold decision. "I see, tell my men to retreat...with out me. If I give my self up they will spare my men. and perhaps my kingdom. In fact I believe they know this already hense why they have stopped attacking." ..... Archibald sword sunk into the woman, but instead of jumping back, she grabbed his sword arm and shot him in the shoulder. He reeled back and as they were about to attempt to finish each other off a horn commanding all forces to cease fighting sounded. The woman showing little pain, tossed him back his blade and winked. .......... Sol listened to all of them argue, he sighed. "Listen up peasants, as prince it is my duty to keep you safe, so please no arguing thank you very much, I need to focus, now...were do we go from here." "Um...your awesomeness? are you lost?" Knob asked concerned. "No! just...thinking about ...the best way out, that's all." Sol replied nervously
Rayla "Um...your awesomeness? are you lost?" Knob asked concerned. "No! just...thinking about ...the best way out, that's all." Sol replied nervously. "You're lost. So much for keeping us safe..." Rayla sighed. "We need to get back on the surface. There has to be more drain holes right? And we've already traveled quite a ways so the next one can't be to far ahead." She said confidently though in all honesty she had very little clue of what she was talking about, considering she lived on the outskirts of the city all her life."
Keiran "No! just...thinking about ...the best way out, that's all." "Call me a peasant again, and I don't care who your mother is... I will bea-" he stopped himself and took a deep breath. "Just get us out of here," he snapped at the prince. ------------- Will Just as he'd been about to cast Damnation, the most powerful spell he'd learned to date, Null Zone went off, wiping away his eather. So close, that spell might have turned the tide, but no more. He drew his sword, and prepared for the worst. This simple little escort quest hadn't turned out so simply, and his thoughts turned to his family. He hoped they weren't his last.
Pickles sighed and sheathed his shining sword and placed his shield on his back. He was relived that the violence had stopped. But was very very very upset about what Magnolia said. Turn herself in? No! She couldn't do that.......maybe he could do something. "Miss Magnolia please don't do that." Pickles said in a begging tone as he ran to the queen's side. "Maybe we could....um talk to them. I'm sure we could come to some sort of agreement." Pickles said looking hopeful. "Please! Lets at least try and speak with them." Pickles looked at the other army and started shouting. It wasn't an angry shout just to try and get their attention. "Hey excuse me! Could the leader of the uncastable army come out here possibly!? I'd like a word!" He said in the most sincere voice anyone on the battlefield had ever heard. "If it helps I'm an uncastable to!" Pickles was hoping to try and talk things out. Or at the very least come to a better end then Magnolia getting taken away. So perhaps a chat with whoever was running the army would be helpful. "It doesn't have to be the leader! Um a person of high rank would be fine to!" He added as he moved to the middle of the battle field to get closer so they could hear him. _____________________ "If you can't find the exit then make one." Carson said bluntly "Also I find it a bit rude the way you call us peasants." He called it like he saw it. Carson started weaving......as he said make an exit.
Lyra "I'm not a peasant! I'm Princess Lyra from the kingdom of sewage, right Marine?" Lyra laughed. As she watched Carson weave, she thought back to when Rayla did her Merc weave. "Hey Rayla, can't you weave something big with this water?"
