Exactly :)

And thanks! I find the approach we take works quite well, just do type away in one go and only do small edits, then revise it completely when it's finished. I think I am going to use that method more often :D

Now that we are talking, I'd like to hear your opinion on Asa (so far) as a character. Personally, he is the most fleshed out character I've created and I really know where I want to take him, he has real purpose in a way. I am curious if that comes across or if I am just drooling too much over my own creation (granted, he's far from perfect as far as character creation goes, but he's still my best, I think).

I think he is a good character :) lots of depth. The only thing i'm confused about is how in the Character profile you said he would follow orders but not without complaint. All i've seen is him jumping at any opportunity without complaint. But that's my only beef. I really like how he can mesh so well with my character as well. I meant to go at this solo but by what you said in your posts about Caeleck I just couldn't resist lol.

And speaking of Caeleck, what do you all think of her? She is only the second character I was able to flesh out so well in an RPG.

It's a tendency of mine to have characters that conflict with my character sheet. This happens because I don't really "know" my characters before I play them. As for Asa taking the iniative all the time, that's just a reflection of me, I really like this game and so I push out a lot of activity. To put a spin on it, you could take what I said about him and say that he doesn't really co-operate without complaint, though Caeleck sort of rendered that to be a half-truth. The point is, he's convinced that his way is the right one, as long as an order fits his perspective he will follow it without complaint.

As for Caeleck, she's great. She's what I'd call an additive opposite to Asa. They aren't very similar, but their skills complement each other. I also like that's she not your typical superhuman. She has her flaws and weaknesses. It could be me, but right now I feel that she'll become important in keeping the group together, she might very well end up being the 'glue' of it all, if you know what I mean.

Our common ground is beginning to expand rapidly, master ;)

Either way, as far as I can tell he is on every other day, so he should be on tomorrow. If I am any good at converting times, that should be around noon tomorrow for you.

EDIT: I am not good at converting times, most of the time.

Eeesh, that'd be a tall order to fill lol. I think Taura will help quite a bit on that though, she has the potential.

I always try to keep my characters flawed. Sometimes it's temper, a curse, or something similar to Caeleck. I never could write a flawless character, even when I was trying to for a religious order in one of my books lol. I think it may be because i'm so flawed myself :) and I was always taught to embrace the flaws. Nobody's perfect, as my mama would say.

Edit: That sounded very southern, but believe me i'm not ;)

It didn't sound southern to me, I am too much of a foreigner to hear the southerness (that's a word?) in what you said. I feel like I missed out on a great joke :p

And yes, characters without conflict are extremely dull in my mind. I've been guilty of creating such atrocities myself, but I think I've managed to step away from it by now. I think Bewitched is going to have a bit of a jaw drop at seeing how much this thread (and the game one) has developed xD.

Yeah no kidding :) Messing around YouTube looking for Caeleck's battle music. Think I found one that suits her nicely :)

I like it, very dark but with undertones of something lighter. Fitting :)

Yes well, Pheonix is being awesome and helping me out alot with developing Asa's backstory and that of Pheonix's own character, Kaile of course. We've already made two backstories and I have proposed a few scenarios for a third. I am not entirely sure when I will weave those into the narrative, but it shouldn't be too difficult to add them in, whenever our characters have some leisure time. I think you'll find most of his light side in those backstories, but now I am going to shut up about them...I don't want to brag too much.

Edit: I also pondered about the timeline a bit. The New Jedi Order was supposedly established in 25ABY. In the prelude, Bewitched says that the events in this story take place more than a decade later. I just went with the minimum and made that decade +1 = 11 years later, which would mean that current events are taking place in 36ABY. It may seem irrelevant, but I think it's quite useful to place your own character on the timeline, you can weave lore from the original star wars into the backstory of your character that way.

Hmm never thought about it. I don't really have a backstory for Caeleck yet maybe I should work on that.....hmmm interesting

You can find a VERY extensive timeline here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline_of_galactic_history

But I just realize I made a rookie mistake, going from 25BBY to 36BBY would be going back in time -.- *facepalm* lemme recalculate all this

    ---

Alright. Let's assume the game takes place 11 years after the New Jedi Order was created (which was in 25ABY) that would make current events take place in 36ABY. Just subtract your characters age from 36 and you should arrive in the year of birth, you can then extrpolate back from there to see which events took place at which age of your character.

ill definetly be holding u to that mac. I'll finish up the plot changes from 1-8 and then send the beginning to you.

Also... chapter 42 is only near the end of part 2. :D each part of my book will be roughly 21 chapters in length, equaling around 62 chapters at the end. Call me crazy, but take a look at some of the epic fantasy i read and you'll find that i am not so extreme. Plus, i am still cutting out unnecessary details, so you won't be getting the first draft of any chapter if i can help it. :p

this story had a LOAD of explanation and background to develop in it so that you don't end up completely lost -add the action of the character finding all these things out and well... :D let's just say you won't get bored.

That and having two main characters would probably contribute to it being so long...

Yeesh, I'm already seeing inconsistencies with the timeline and our story. I am just going to ignore those......

Luckily though, the Miraluka homeworld Alpheridies is so far removed from the rest of the galaxy (Somewhere on the edge of the Veil, the outer rim of the Outer Rim lol) That almost none of the events in the galaxy reached the place. A peaceful world :) I didn't know that. Hmm, I got me some good information here....

Keep in mind that I made 'more than a decade' later into 'eleven years later'. So part of the inconsistencies may be averted if that interpretation is to be changed. And now you have me wonder what inconsistencies you've found. Please, enlighten me.

I am looking forward to it. You have my email adress I believe.

*falls over* uhh... funny thing i just figured out. I looked up online what editors prefer as for font when prospective writers send in their books to them -and they like it to be double-spaced, 12 TNR font and 1" margains. The word count in my book did not change, but the page numbers however....

its over 50 pages just at chapter four! *faints* Omggggggg..... *crying/laughing*

That's why editors look at word count, not page count. Still, it sounds very impressive. I am getting very eager to read this Keit!

lol, just sent the first chapters your way. This is actually just after i edited it to put in a new plot change -so chapters 5-8 may be a bit in coming. Still have to get that conflict resolved in Batos's head... ugh he can be very stubborn. (yep im talking about my char as if he's alive.) still, it will end up making chapter seven soooo gooood...

*edit* also, pre-warning, chapter one may seem a tad boring, but it fleshes out the world so you don't get confused. if you get to chapter two... well it has plenty of action to make up for that.
