"Paradise Lost" by Hollywood Undead. Great band; nice hip-hop and rock fusion (but manages to escape Linkin Park comparisons, thankfully) in all 15 of their songs off the debut album, Swan Songs. The other day my best friend's brother yelled at me when he found out that I liked them. Because they talk about partying, drinking / drug use, and a lot of sexual references (mostly quite blatant), he thinks that I shouldn't listen to them; that they dont make 'girl music.' I laughed at him and told him that I was also a fan of the Benassi Bros (an electronica group that is very sexually oriented). Listening to them for precisely that reason, actually. The lyrics remind me that it's okay to forget everything for a while. Even though, actually, the track "Paradise Lost" is much more serious and depressing. Whoops. Oh well, it's absolutely beautiful anyways. "So watch my chest heave as this last breath leaves me; I am trying to be what you're dying to see... Just let me burn! It's what I deserve! God, I've lied, am I lost in your eyes?" Bit of an essay there...
Exploding in Your Mind by Sun Dial. I'm as straight edge as they come (I even like Minor Threat. Woohoo!) but I'll be damned if guys on acid don't make great music!
"Happy Birthday" by The Birthday Massacre. Not to be confused with the "Happy Birthday" we sing when someone ages... This song, instead, is actually deliciously macabre with Chibi's (vocalist) little girl singing voice and chilling whispers that are complete with upbeat electronica beats and a slight rock sound. The lyrics are fantastic; she does a great job alluding to what happens between "I wore my black and white dress to the birthday massacre..." AND "Now he chases me to my room, chases me... In my black and red dress." "I think my friend said 'Stick it in the back of her head.' 'Two of them are sisters.' 'I'm a murder tramp, birthday boy.' 'I'm gonna bash them in, bash them in...' I think he said." I wish this song was alive so I could marry it.
Iron Butterfly - Inagaddadavida 17 minutes Yes, I WAS young once...favorite song during sex...awesome rythym...if you make it through the song, she's sure to be smiling! (Been married 36 years...now, you know why - LOL)
Wanna Be - Spice Girls (Ok I hate the song and I know hos crap it is, but there is a reason for me listening to it and no one on here would ever understand...)
