Cocaine Blues - Johnny Cash. Not one for country usually, but I make exceptions for the Man in Black.
I like both versions. Though Alien Ant Farm has that one and only hit, and it's not even original material... Not much of a big AAF fan either. "Coma White," by Marilyn Manson. Another very sad song choice by Mercurial! "A pill to make you numb, a pill to make you dumb, a pill to make you anybody else. But all the drugs in this world wont save her from herself." Also see: "Coma Black." I'm a huge fan of Manson (though I'd never go to one of his concerts! ). Trivia! With an IQ (rumoured to be) of 159, Manson is a classified as a genius and is a proud member of Mensa, though under his true name, Brian Hugh Warner. Manson also went to a Catholic school growing up.
Sunshine of Your Love - Cream. I just got a ring that says "Forever Soul Mates" in Gaelic from my girlfriend. I'm in a rather loving mood.
"The Riddle (You and I)" by Five for Fighting. I adore all of one-man-band John Ondrasik's work. In a time when the world is a little too fast-paced for even my 'nownownow' taste, FFF puts music out there that makes you slow down and remember how to enjoy he simple things in life. I especially love this song because it talks about the purpose of life in a really calming and optomistic light, which someone like me needs every once in a while (I'm a bit of a nihilist... ). And then it also talks about the love between specifically father and child, but it's really just the love between people. And, the video is really, really cool with all of these doodles... A lot of people try to figure out what the answer to the riddle is, but in my opinion, and maybe I'm being totally saptastic here, it's right in the title: You and I. "I guess we're big and I guess we're small; If you think about it, man, you know we got it all, 'cause we're all we got on this bouncing ball, and I love you free, I love you freely... Here's a riddle for you: Find the answer. There's a reason for the world, you and I." YOU MUST LISTEN.
"Mary Jane's Last Dance" - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers "Can't Be Saved" - Senses Fail "Lady in a Blue Dress" - Senses Fail "The Irony of Dying on Your Birthday" - Senses Fail "Smoking Romance" - Corinth "Doin' Time" - Sublime.
My daughter was listening to her. But I was in the next room so It kinda counts as to what are you listening to.
