I need me some Amon Amarth right now.

Slipknot, I guess, will do, but I need something louder and more metally.

Is that the not-musical-at-all song where he just shouts F this and that?

    Err... not really.

'Tis music, but I'm not in the mood to debate what is and what isnt. Metal is the most underappreciated by most people, yet these musicians typically work the hardest at their craft... Slipknot aint power metal, but (almost) all power metal bands are well trained, a lot of death metal bands too. I like Slipknot, they work as good angry music.

Nine Inch Nails will work too.

Yes I'm sure screaming takes a lot of technique. Honestly I just don't see the charm of it though. I'm hopeless when it comes to letting people to their own opinions... forgive me  I don't actually mind some slipknot songs well I like some - and I like static x and disturbed (less metally rock i guess? O.O)

    You'd be surprised.

If you've an open mind, I highly recommend "Arms of Sorrow" by Killswitch Engage. Look it up on YouTube. You wont find official videos due to contract breach, but the song is up there.
This song is much more lyrical with only about five seconds of dominant screaming in the song. I love to introduce skeptics to this song because the way the vocals are layered makes the screaming seem artistic, not gross.

The majority of screaming bands I wont listen to. It hurts my ears. You have your genres confused. Power metal, death metal, and most metal singers in general do not rely on screaming to make themselves seem 'special' or to demonstrate how angry they are. And most of the musicians, guitarists, bassists, drummers, etc are very highly trained. Have you seen the drum set Slipknot uses?

I see you've got Disturbed in your signature. A lot of people consider Disturbed to be metal, but Dramien doesnt scream.
Nor does Corey Taylor from Slipknot; you are not listening to the songs. ;)

Also, for "real" music, I now have "What's This?" by Danny Elfman playing. From the cult classic, "Nightmare Before Christmas."

I love the animation in that film.

Oh I know about the guitar/drum/bass skills. Some are just off the charts. I was just referring to the screaming. Why ruin such good instrumental talents by putting massively loud screaming on top of it (talking about what I've heard of black and death metal.) Some girl sent me some music a while back and the only slipknot song was the one where he screams f this f that f everything or something. Put me off slipknot altogether I'm afraid.

    Metal ftw though ^^

And actually the disturbed song is "Into the abyss will I run", but I thought it was "with my mind" and I still think it sounds cooler so... :p

What now? I love metal. Just not a fan of screamo. No offence :p

    Oh yeah

Ten thousand fists, Indestrucible (albums by Disturbed) and Select songs from Shadow Zone (Album by Static X)
My current playlist. Makes it stay up to date whether you see it now or in a few minutes :p

I thought it was "with my mind" as well, since Dramien always goes on about being insane, IE "Voices" and "Down with the Sickness" and "Perfect Insanity."

I love Disturbed. Listening to "Voices" right now, actually.

Isnt that song, "Into the abyss I will run" called "Stricken"? I could be wrong.

Stricken yes. Even non-metal fans know that song. My brother did and he's more of a fan of old classics. (Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Springsteen, Beatles(not that much) - Oh wait I already made my point lol. Forgive my babbling please :)

:p Thank you, I think. It alwys seems to go that way... anyone with any potential here is either engaged already or too busy getting stoned to care, and that's not my scene. Until I meet someone who's not high or engaged, I remain perpetually single.

I never said you were actually completely perfect since we both know there's no such thing. Just saying you're more perfect than anyone I know. Is this coming off as flirting? I mean if it starts coming off as that even to me then this must seem like it I guess lol. That was not my intention at all actually, believe it or not o_O Just stating a fact. WOW, that sounded.... Okay. I need to stop writing things that I think about what I just wrote. Lol.

Just take the compliment and leave my insanity to itself lol.

    Stricken - Disturbed
Used to be my favorite song by Disturbed, but now I'm not really sure if it's Deify or Stricken or something else.

    >_________> :p Thank you again, I think. Are you a compulsive typist? :D

    "Punk" by Impelliteri
Ragnar, this sounds like something you would like. Easily one of the best songs, ever. It's a nice insult to hip-hop (although I love hip-hop too...). Easy to find on YouTube, hard to find anywhere else. I had to borrow a friend's CD to copy it, and that's only 'cause I couldnt find the CD in stores.

PS: I dislike Deify... my favourite songs are off of "The Sickness" album. The Game, Stupify, Violence Fetish, etc.

PS: I still like Deify :p

I don't have "The Sickness" Album, I like The Game and Stupify though. Maybe I'll but it off Itunes right now. I think I have some cash on my VISA :D
