They're finally coming to my state in September! :) Gon' try to score tickets to either my town's show or to Dayton's with the best friend...

From my YouTube research, they put on one hell of a show party. Woot.

"Wake Up" by Coheed & Cambria

Okay, I take back anything I've ever said about any band ever being the best or my favourite or whatever... Coheed & Cambria trump everyone musically.

If you havent heard this song, there's got to be a copy on YouTube somewhere. Spend three minutes and forty-three seconds with musical ecstacy, okay? :)

I'm so glad you listened, even if you didnt like the lyrics much! :)

If you think that's depressing, you'd cry over "Mother Superior." That one makes me cry every time, anyway. :D I kind of like that though. "Wake Up" is one of the best representations of love lost I think there is, and I listen to "Mother Superior" every time I'm feeling really bummed out. I kind of like to amplify my highs and lows, which may or may not be healthy, but it sure helps me write more effectively.

Did you like Claudio's voice? It takes some getting used to, for most people. Took me a while to see the amazing qualities he possessed vocally. (As a guitarist, he's undeniably perfect.)

If you liked them any, soundwise at least, check out "Feathers" or "A Favor House Atlantic." They're a little more cheery.

All of these songs are based on a story Claudio wrote actually, called The Amory Wars, a sci-fi comic series. Absolutely fantastic storyline, though I actually havent read the series yet. But I know the storyline well enough from the albums Coheed has put out.

    Now I'm listening to:
"Welcome Home" by Coheed & Cambria. It's the song that chronologically comes right after "Wake Up," which is interesting, because Wake Up is such a beautifully disastrous love song, and "Welcome Home" is about wanting to kill that very person the song was about...

I didn't find it depressing, but I also don't think it's my thing. I listened to Mother Superior though and really liked it. As for the vocals, I am not sure what I think, I will have to listen to more to decide.

I liked to "amplify" when I was a bit younger. 11-12 or something. Ended up cutting myself some once or twice. Thankfully the scissors were far from sharp and I didn't even get scars, just some blood spilled ^^

Takes some getting used to? I guess at that. Didn't like it much <.< And it was not the lyrics, it was the "feel" to the song. Depressing. Ugh. I don't like music that depresses me.

You havent listened to C&C before?! I expected more from you, heheh, as my musical partner. We seem to share a lot in common musically, anyway.

"Mother Superior" was actually the first C&C song I ever heard, and while possibly one of the most depressing songs they've ever written (or has ever been written, in my opinion), it's still the favourite I hold near and dear.

Ragnar, err, glad you're more stable!? I dont amplify like that though. ;) Emotional pain I'm pretty strong with and utilize, but blood and Mercurial do not mix. But take heart! "Wake Up" is one of the more depressing songs, as is "Mother Superior." A lot of them are really actually very fun. "The Running Free," at least in feel is very upbeat and fun.

I really encourage both of you (and everyone else) to listen to "Feathers" and / or "A Favor House Atlantic" though. Although, dont take the music videos seriously (especially "Feathers," which, with the music video, I usually lose my lunch over). C&C make a point for their videos not to reflect the overall storyline.

    Now listening to:
"The Light & the Glass" by Coheed & Cambria

I was so excited by the way. I went to the movies this evening, and Tim Burton's "Nine" preview played to C&C's "No World For Tomorrow"!!!!!!!!!! I started laughing. Awesome.

I have heard them before. On the radio or something. Maybe at a friend's house. + I'm 18 now. All grown up, LMAO. (Just laughing at the obvious lie in my statement.) I don't cuts miself anymoa! I can't say I did much of it at any point either. Once or twice litterally. Well on purpose anyway. Accidents happen, spilling of blood caused when trying to make a butter knife and stuff like that.

I was a sensitive boy. After harsh reality tried to catch up I fled into the mental abyss and have dwelled in the lovely insanity ever since :p

"Three Evils (Embodied in Love)" by Coheed & Cambria

I think the more eccentric people in this world give this world the colour it deserves. I'm too vanilla and grey for my own good --I want to be colourful too! :) I try to be a character in my own right, like the ones I make up, but in the real world. Normalcy, I figure, is kind of boring anyway.

LOL, I've got plenty of scars, most of them stupid. The only one that's not stupid is the one behind my ear from a surgery.
I have a few on my hands from burning myself cooking and from stapling my fingers by accident. I have a large one stretching from shoulder to wrist from a housecat back when I was six. And I have a massive thick one across my thigh from when I swam into a boat propeller. Oops...

Coil, Tainted Love. Coil is fantastic, and evil and sometimes they make me scared. This is one of those sometimes.

I have actually not listened to C&C before. I've meant to for a while, but was always distracted. I listened to a few of the other songs from the same album as Mother Superior including Feathers, and I liked it. I'm going to check out some more by them. As for hearing them in a movie trailer... the day I hear 'The Waiting' by Phideaux in a movie trailer is the day I go to see a movie five times in a row.

I know! I'm already an avid Burton fan (even though Corpse Bride sucked, among a few of his later productions), but I'm going to see "9" an estimated of 9 times, just for their awesome taste in music.

I need to check out Phideaux --are they also French, I assume? I havent heard them before.

And, Ragnar, yes, I did. It, errr, wasnt very pleasant. I dont exactly know how it happened. I was jumping off and away from my uncle's speedboat, yet somehow ended up next to the propeller and cut my leg up pretty badly. :( It's a cool looking scar though. Glad I made your day? :p What time is it where you are? My day just started (it's 1230AM).

I have the disastrous combination of clumsiness and the worst luck in the world when it comes to finding injuries, so I'm always terrified when I'm in the water anywhere near a motorboat. Especially now that I know it's actually possible to accidentally stumble into one :(

Phideaux is American. They sound a little bit like some of the proggier bits of Ayreon... but not quite. If I made music, I would want it to sound like them. Their best individual songs are 'The Waiting,' 'Titan,' and the 'The Last,' but Doomsday Afternoon is by far their best album, probably my favourite progressive album. The first half of their new one, Number 7, is almost as good but it loses some momentum near the end. With the possible exception of the Count of Tuscany, Number 7 is my favourite new release this year so far.

Toc de Mac by Alizée came on while typing this, and I couldn't help but laugh at the contrast with Coil.

Ayreon-esque, you say?! Okay, now I'm definitely going to check them out. Like, now. :D

Ragnar, are you nocturnal?! Every time I come on, you're saying something like, "Oh, it's 10AM now. Bedtime. :p " that's when I wake up, hehehe.

Nocturnal? More like I've got a "No sleep rythm allowed" sign stapled to my forehead.

Going to listen to some calming metal like disturbed and static x before I go to sleep. Bye bye ^^

Microsoft Deathstar (either the best or worse song name ever) from Doomsday Afternoon and Waiting for the Axe to Fall from Number 7 are two of their more Ayreon-esque songs especially with the use of multiple vocalists.

Talking about Phideaux has made me listen to Titan again.

Henry Purcell, Dido and Aeneas- 'When I am Laid in Earth.'

It is my favourite classical piece in English. Is is also very sad.

Lacuna Coil, I Like it. I actually haven't liked much by them since Comalies, but it's a nice contrast after Purcell.
