A Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra la la band has really good lyrics. They put angels in the electric chair The electric chair, the electric chair Straight up angels in the electric chair The electric chair, the electric chair And no one knew or no one cared But burning stars lit up their hair And burning stars lit up their hair And crawled to heaven on golden stairs And oh, how we to and fro To and fro, to and fro Oh, how we to and fro To and fro, to and fro This our torched estates We're your sweet mistakes And all them vulgar kings on their dirty thrones Who among us will avenge Ms. Nina Simone? And all them vulgar kings on their dirty thrones Who among us will avenge Ms. Nina Simone? There's fresh meat in the club tonight God bless our dead marines Someone had an accident above the burning trees While somewhere distant, peacefully Our vulgar princes sleep Dead kids don't get photographed God bless our dead marines The hungry and the hanged The damaged and the done Striving along this spinning rock Tumbling past the sun Get through this life without killing anyone And consider yourself golden Lost a friend to cocaine Couple friends to smack Troubled hearts map deserts And they rarely do come back Lost a friend to oceans Lost a friend to hills Lost a friend to suicide Lost a friend to pills Lost a friend to monsters Lost a friend to shame Lost a friend to marriage Lost a friend to blame Lost a friend to worry And lost a friend to wealth Lost a friend to stubborn pride And then I lost myself I love my dog and she loves me The world's a mess and so are we She tumbles long green, muddy fields Sick with joy and glee And as she dreams sweet puppy dreams Whimpering gently There's fresh meat in the club tonight God bless our dead marines Someone had an accident above the burning trees While somewhere distant, peacefully Our vulgar princes sleep Dead kids don't get photographed God bless this century When the world is sick Can't no one be well? But I dreamt we was all beautiful and strong
Brother Sport - Animal Collective Not the best song on the album, but its still like a solid A...this album we be near the top of everyone's best-of-2009 lists, methinks.
GREAT SONG. "The Camper Velorium III: Al the Killer" by Coheed & Cambria When I kill her, I'll have her... (dance upon the graves of the dead in your name)! Creepy! The whole song is disturbing; I absolutely love it.
"Thy Unveiling" by Insane Clown Posse We're not sorry if we tricked you! The Carnival will carry on... They didnt trick me, FYI. All it takes is one listen to "12" to figure it out.
Nice, like it! To furfill my dark mood Nevermores album "Dreaming Neon Black" 1) Dreaming Neon Black 2) The Lotus Eaters 3) Forever
I guess this thread would be the right place to put this. I don't know yet how I feel about Kings of Leon. Like, I heard them before they started getting all popular, and I sorta liked them. I want to like the stuff from the new album. But...my roommate likes them, and she has horrible taste in music, and that tells me that maybe there is something about them that I should reconsider. I know, I know, I shouldn't worry about what other people think, just about my own tastes. But so much of what's popular really is crap, and it makes me automatically distrust anything that I might otherwise like. Edit: Also, the dude's voice reminds me of John Popper from Blues Traveler.
^ I cant stand Kings of Leon, especially the one song from them that's blasting on the radio lately. Blech. And I have good taste in music ( ), so. "To Die For" by The Birthday Massacre. Tighten your tie, boy, you're something to die for... I like the creepy music.
Because I don't listen to the radio (around here we get force fed garbage like Nickelback at least once an hour on the radio because they have to play a certain quota of Canadian 'music'), I haven't really listened to Kings of Leon. I looked them up, and while I like the lead singer, nothing in the music stood out to me- it felt really bland. to be fair, I listen mostly to progressive, metal, and europop and they are none of these. Sonata Arctica, Flag in the Ground- their new single. I really like it, and I hope the new album will be good, because even though I love Paid in Full, their last album was a bit disappointing.
Sonata Arctica are playing New years Eve in my City, BIG gig with a dozen or two bands. Their the lead act. Where should i start with their music (Im a fan, just dont own and of their stuff?"
Ecliptica is their best album in my opinion- and I think it's one of the best in all of power metal. The rest is a bit mixed, but Silence and Reckoning Night are both good. Their most recent album other than the new one is Unia, on which I only really like Paid in Full. Their new album is out later this month. Ayreon, Liquid Eternity. The bridge pairing Floor Jansen and Jorn Lande is one of the best parts in all of Ayreon.
Listening to small teasers of Elephant, Nobody Loves Me and Neither Do I, and Scumbag Blues by Them Crooked Vultures, a supergroup consisting of: Josh Homme on vocals and guitar (from Queens of the Stone Age) John Paul Jones on bass (from Led Zeppelin, of course) and regrettably Dave Grohl (from Foo Fighters/Nirvana - at least he's only on drums and not singing in this) Anyway, the samples I've heard sound extremely promising and I plan to pick this up on the day it's released. (The 15th of September) John Paul Jones is, quite simply, a musical genius.
